January 10, 20233 yr Anyone watching it tonight? I’m never been super crazy about College Football, just used to watch some Hurricanes games when I had the chance back in the day. So the game tonight. Georgia vs. TCU. Can’t say that I really care that much. Even though I’m currently in Bulldogs country, I just don’t feel any connection or fanship for any Georgia team from any sport. So I don’t really care either way who wins, but generally in games when I don’t care about the teams, I tend to root for the underdogs. So go TCU! 😂
January 10, 20233 yr I could care less about college football - I don't understand how people watch endless college football games for no other reason than watching a college football. Aside from some of the major events (SuperBowl get-togethers, etc), I don't watch sports unless I follow the team in some capacity (i.e. local professional team, etc), so I just can't get into the switching between game after game after game of football. Only reason I watched it was because some friends had a get together for it that I went to, and I hoped for at least a competitive game, and rooting for the underdog, especially since Georgia won last year. Obviously it wasn't a competitive game after the first few minutes.

I love the Marlins and baseball so much that I've wanted to explore finding that enjoyment in the Heat and the Dolphins and other teams too but I just can't get into a team if I'm not like 200% locked in. It's a bit of a curse but I just can't get engaged without feeling like I really know and follow what I'm watching. This also gets me to my confusion with the Olympics, I can't get into it because I don't know any of those players and have no connection with them. I get the national pride thing but I don't get how so many people can watch players that they have no connection with and national pride isn't nearly enough for me.

Of the major professional sports, they fall in this order for me watching-wise: 1) Marlins/MLB 2) Inter Miami/MLS 3) Panthers/NHL 4) Dolphins/NFL 5) Heat/NBA I watch our local teams, and that's it. I just can't get into the idea of "sports is on, let me watch!" I'd rather do other things. I did watch a ton of Panthers games last year, but I haven't bothered this year with how bad they've have been. I don't follow the other teams like I do the Marlins, though, as far as transactions and whatnot. So you could say I'm more of a casual fan of our other local teams. --- I get it with the Olympics.....that to me like you said is a national pride thing.....but it's not "must watch" TV for me....if I have nothing else to do, I'll throw it on and root for our guys, but if I don't see it, oh well. I did enjoy the World Cup for the same reason - rooted for our guys, and then once we were out, I still threw the games on my second monitor at work, but didn't care who won.

I can't just watch a game for the sake of watching a game if I don't care about one of the teams. I've been suffering with all four of my teams being shitty and unwatchable for awhile too.
