Did anyone see the trailer for the new Flash movie coming this year?

 

 

I have to admit, it actually is looking like a really good super hero movie. Having Ben Affleck AND Michael Keaton as Batman in the same movie. Plus the Flash hanging out with an alternate universe version of himself. Seems like it might be an entertaining super hero flick for the first time in what seems like a long time.

It's a DC movie so it'll still probably be poo unfortunately 

Yea cool trailer but I don't have much faith in the finished product. And I don't like Ezra Miller, what a whack job. 

Does Ezra Miller still have an arrest warrant out? If so, shouldn't DC be charged with harboring a fugitive? Lol

They probably can't catch him, didn't you see the trailer? He's really fast.

Well... I have a feeling a lot of people won't catch him. See previous point about DC movies.

Flashpoint was my favorite part of The Flash tv show, so the plot has potential.

I had a question about this... seems like Flashpoint is such a big storyline to put in the first Flash movie even though I know he's had a tv show and been in other movies. I'm surprised they didn't start with a "softer landing" and then progress to this in a later sequel. Feels like this would be like the Avengers fighting Thanos in their first film.

Honestly, that won't really matter because with James Gunn now in charge of DCEU, they're basically ripping up everything and starting over again.

 

So while I will go see this, and it does look like it's pretty good, it's hard to get too invested in the characters because they're going to all be replaced soon.

 

On this movie in particular, I've never actually read any comics, so I don't know if this "Flashpoint" story arc is from them or new, but from an casual observer standpoint, it almost looks like they couldn't decide who they wanted to play Batman going forward, so they picked more than one lol.  Meanwhile, the most recent and terrible "The Batman" Pattinson Batman is out there somewhere on his own island lol.

It is from the comics, though they will likely take their own approach to it like the television series did.

I get that but that ain't it. The Flashpoint story is about time travel and multiple variations of characters crossing over.

Flashpoint is about Barry trying to stop his mother from being killed. When he goes back in time to try and stop the murder, he creates this new timeline. It changes everything in the future

I didn't realize this was his origin story (how is that possible if this story didn't happen until the late 80s?) but if it "changes everything" this becomes an easy segue for whatever Gunn has coming next.

Well partly origin story, I don't want to give too much away of how it factors into his origin. Thing with The Flash is time travel is such a big part of it, that events that happened before or after his origin can be part of the origin.

I am not into comic books much but I've always been a big fan boy for The Flash.

So is @TaiwanMarlins in this movie since it's got to do with time travel?

I was sold on watching this movie when I saw Keaton back as Batman.

I am erect. Affleck was THE Batman for me- minus the whedon rewrites. Really excited. Hopefully they introduce Grant Gustin's flash into the DCEU incase they ever need to write Ezra out of the role they already have a built in replacement.

Did you ever read Flashpoint in the comics. Using pieces of that can be very promising. Interesting Barry 2 is in Yellow. The Thomas Wayne/ Martha Wayne twist in the comics was great.
