9:38? Is that real? How'd they settle on that time?

Yeah. Well the game is in California so it's really a 6:38 pm start time. But yeah, unusual for baseball standards. But also tomorrow's game will be a 10:07 pm Miami time start and Sunday @ 4:07 pm Miami time.

It seems to be an Angels specific thing as pretty much all their home games throughout the season will be 6:38 pm, 7:07 pm and 1:07 pm local time start times. Maybe they feel like it makes them unique or something.

Kind of like how the Diamondbacks have always had 6:40 pm local time starts. Until the Marlins decided to be copycats and do it as well. 😂

Yea I know it's 6:38 over there but I'm asking about the 8. 7:10, 6:40, all of those make more sense. Not sure why 38 as opposed to 6:40 or even 6:35

Yeah not sure why they picked the 6:38 pm start time. All I was able to find was that they made that change starting in the 2021 season that all home weekday games will start at 6:38 pm. Didn't say a reason why. Some people speculate that it's for commercial purposes - literally. A few extra minutes to squeeze in a couple more commercials. The idea is that most people will tune in around 6:30 pm to watch the game so between 6:30 and 6:38 a chance to show extra commercials compared to first pitch at 6:30:00 or 6:35 etc. But who really knows the exact. As I said before, maybe the 6:38 start times just makes them feel unique and something different compared to other teams.

Maybe. I know the reason games start a few minutes after the hour or half hour is so that the tv broadcast has a few minutes to go over the introductions and information and stories of the evening but every other team gives 5 or 10 minutes, 8 seems so random.

Angels have one of the better and underappreciated City Connect jerseys. It's got character but most importantly still looks like a baseball uniform unlike some of the whackier designs of other teams.

Miracles do happen.   Great base running by DLC.

Even more impressed that it was with one out.

Jesus doesn't have his best command today.   Let's hope he finds it quickly.

He hit the ball hard there, I'm not mad at him for that one.

Does that mean you are mad for how soft Segura hit his?
