July 8, 20233 yr According to Craig Mish, Johnny Cueto will not be in the starting rotation when he returns. (So this means there's still a chance he's in the starting rotation when he returns.)
July 8, 20233 yr Doesn’t really matter who starts. The offense routinely struggles to get 3-4 runs platted a game
July 8, 20233 yr only Marlins SPs don't need the innings limit are Sandy, Rogers (if return) and “Cueto ”.....

I mean, Perez is a decently handsome fellow but I wouldn’t go so far as to say he’s the hottest pitcher in the NL.. 😂 Classic joke I like to make when people refer to players as “hottest player in the league.” Either that or “looks aren’t that important/it’s what inside that counts.” Works every time. 😂 Edited July 8, 20233 yr by SirFishFan

July 12, 20233 yr I want Luzardo to start the first game of the second half but maybe it's Sandy for THOSE REASONS.

I do wonder if they have an innings plan for Luzardo, too. If they do, that may factor in to the decision. Friday would be right in line with him on normal rotation rest so it'd be perfectly fine. Sandy has been better his last few times out. Even giving up four in five to the Braves, he didn't have that huge blow-up inning, so I'm not mad if he goes first. Luzardo would make sense though.

If they start limiting innings for Lizard too this team will have a hard time getting to the playoffs.

Quite possible, but Luzardo is 25 now, so that would/should play a somewhat important factor as well.

Luzardo is right around his career high in innings. Perhaps another 40-50 innings on him this year, perhaps. We really need that six man rotation.
