😂 absolutely misfire by Kim on that one

If he was healthy from the start it might have been alright. If he could have duplicated 2022's numbers. But ... alas. Lol.

Get rid of Avi now plz.

I don't think they can unless they just paid him the $30 million left on his salary or whatever it is. His contract is guaranteed several more years. Unless they cut him, traded him (impossible) or he repeatedly tested positive for PEDs or did some sins to get suspended for a long time without pay, he's going to be on the team. Maybe they can throw him in a trade package if they are doing a rebuild and will be trading Sandy and Arraez for prospects, they could throw Avi in it. Other than that there's no way he can be traded. They would just have to cut him and eat the $30 million. They are more likely to keep him as a 'veteran presence' than do that tho.

Should thank him. It is about time we learn how contracts work.

I'm just excited we'll apparently be trading Sandy and Arraez so we can get rid of two years of Avi's remaining contract!

I'm sure they'll work on getting him shipped out somehow, likely with a prospect (unfortunately), before just cutting him.

That said, probably have him until about June anyways, so, sure, let's roll with the "veteran presence" idea even though he's shown to not be ... great, with his presence. Just have to hope he can be an at least serviceable hitter until then.

Plus Bruce just saved like $13.75M so that'll help with releasing Avi later.

Yep. Getting rid of those two basically pays for one of the two remaining years on Avi's contract. Again, I feel like this season will be a soft reset. I'm not saying they won't make the playoffs (they can if Jazz becomes the guy we think he can AND stays healthy plus Burger and Bell do well) but more than likely we'll kinda be a slightly below .500 team.

Should get some answers to the long term viability of several key players this season though. It'll be interesting.

Also, saying they have to trade Arraez and Sandy (at his lowest value) is stupid.

As the team is constructed currently, yes, probably just below .500. Let's see how the offseason plays out.

Reminds me of the guy about 10 years ago here who said we should trade Giancarlo to Milwaukee for Aramis Ramirez, John Axford, and I think it was Yovany Gallardo. Lol.
