Park dimensions and lack of offensive talent played a big part in that.   Look what he did for both Burger and Bell when they came over at the deadline.  He also made strides with both Sanchez and DLC.

This is all true too!

If you think the reason they didn't score much was the hitting coaches fault i can tell u never watched the games becuse the reason they didnt score much had nothing to do with lack of hitting. there was no other team in mlb i ever saw so much needing 4 hits in an inning to score a single run. they would often have 10+ even 12 hits in a game and score like 2 runs. dlc overswinging at every pitch wasnt the hitting coaches fault either. arraez trying to lift the ball more haflway thru the season wasnt the hitting coaches fault either. jazz swinging at shit in the dirt wasnt hitting coach fault either. all in all i think brant brown did the best he could with the players, they all had one of if not their better years hitting. if its the hitting coaches fault we would need 20 hits to score 5 runs a game, then sure we need a new hitting coach for not scoring.

Like I said, part him, part Skip, part Kim, part Bruce, part the hitters themselves. Equal blame all around for not scoring runs.

I blame ADT.  They lied with their slogan "Safe at home" - clearly we weren't safe at home nearly enough......

Ahhh I dunno...I feel it was accurate - we just stayed at home instead

Like I said in the post, if u think the reason they didnt score was lack of hitting then u didnt watch the games. they were 4th in MLB in average and 5th least strikeouts in MLB. If it's the hitting coaches fault Arraez didn't hit 400 and Soler didnt hit 70 homers and Jazz got injured then sure, we needed a new hitting coach to score runs.

Ive watched them every season for 29 years. How bout you?

You're referencing batting average and strikeouts.. really? Talk about behind the times.  Take away arraez, what's that coveted batting average at?

I dont think our offense being complete shit is necessarily his fault.. id put that more on Sherman, Ng and player development.. but im definitely not gonna lose any sleep over him moving on. The things we did well this to year to make the playoffs (one run wins, comeback victories) was amazing but not sustainable. This season easily could have gone the other way.. and that was more a testament to Skip than a hitting coach who oversaw a team that was last in runs and 1st in groundballs.

We had too many slap hitters that get singles and not enough doubles guys to help get that big hit we needed

The singles hitters would be fine if Skip calls for more motion on the basepaths. Single, hit n run, sac fly. Do that a bunch. Lol

That too!  I’d like more doubles tho ugh h.  I’ve been saying for a while I’ve never understood why we don’t target doubles hitters with our massive park.

this is exactly the problem with the team. we didnt need much more, we didnt need this idea of a lineup of more homerun hitters or new hitting coaches or ohtani or bellinger or anything special, we had enough last year. we didnt even need all these double hitters talked about we were 12th in mlb in doubles as well, which isnt bad. if we just did THIS you mention, we would have been much better as a team. one of the better offenses if we just did better baserunning. our hitting was good enough, and was only going to improve. our baserunning, offensive tactics, and fielding was horrible. and those things dont require anything special with superstars/payroll either.

Saying we don't need Ohtani eh? I think we found Bruce's burner account y'all.

I would love to sign Ohtani if we can, I think a 1 year deal maybe 1 year /$25-$30 million was possible till he heals his arm and gets a more secure long term deal. I know the marlins would never sign him long term and i think unless a team was unconditonally in love with him, he would secure a better deal once his arm is healthy so i thought it was possible to get him for 1 year but it's not necessary. the angels had him for years and years and still sucked.

Ohtani just got $30M in arbitration last year. He's not taking less. It's going to be $45M+ yearly.
