I imagine Larry is still actually around. Maybe he’s even admin. Larry poured his heart and soul into this place, can’t imagine he’d leave.

That wasn’t true but he was so paranoid about it that they did it (shadeznation). It was basically a joke but it lasted a little while. Then there were some more dust ups around 2007 with Larry thinking people were turning against him, so the four of us decided to start tealandblack.

if i recall there was another incident around that time which got a bunch of people banned (which i won't get into) but i imagine they wanted to go anyway at that point.

My guess is whoever was running it didn't care much anymore since it was pretty dead and forgot to pay for the site host. But who knows.

I doubt he'll come back. He left after some pointed out the 87 paragraph posts were all mostly the same, so he stopped posting.

I miss the days when he would make lengthy posts but it was like. In the offseason. And once, twice maximum. And it was usually wonderfully informative!

And then it became "this team needs two center fielders" ad nauseum.

Yeah, a long post here and there is fine. But it was every other post with the same thing.

And if you want to type all that that often, go for it. But some pointed it out, and he got upset and left. I knew how he posted from the other site (same method of posting), so I just ignored most of the posts unless I really felt like reading them. I didn't want him to leave.

His posts could be exhausting, but lou knew what he was talking about. I enjoyed my back and forth with him. Hopefully he finds his way here.

As far as the other site goes, I believe the host of the site ghosted markotsay7, and that was pretty much it. It went down several times before and he was able to get the host to bring it back, but I guess the host was just done with it.

In all seriousness, I really want to give MarlinsLou one off-season as a Marlins GM to show what he can do.

Old timer here (Festa). I see a lot of names from the past mentioned and still on here. Some of us from back in the day have become friends in real life and frequently remember the old board.

Interesting reading all this with 20+ years of hindsight. I was one of the rebel leaders (lol) that started TealandBlack and later SoFlaMarlins.

Close. We were being hosted for free. I forgot to renew the domain after many years of not checking the site.

I cameback...only board I came back too as well. But I was lurking for years.
