Posted June 29Jun 29 36-45 exactly halfway through the season. That translates to 72-90 which would be a big jump from last year.Three rotation starters out for year: Braxton, Max, Weathers. Two aces giving us very little so far: Sandy, Eury.A lineup mostly of rookies and 2nd year guys that are having their ups and downs with flashes of potential brilliance.A first year manager learning his bullpen and getting criticized for pulling starters early based on analytics.A refurbished farm system playing above their age levels but largely struggling and disappointing. An owner with alligator arms and lint in his pockets. That being said, a giant step in the right direction of long-term sustainability and success. Now, the next step is this upcoming month with two crucial elements to continue the upward trajectory. The MLB draft. Last year results are mixed if we are being generous. The team still needs a difference maker and has a chance with the 7th pick. They need to knock it out of the park. The trade deadline. Who is leaving and what will be the return? Most of the trades have looked good so far and we need to knock it out of the park with some valuable chips in the pot.Thoughts? I don't think any GMs are dumb enough to do it but you never know. That's all I'm really looking at - trade deadline acquisitions again. It would be lovely to see us keep some of Sandy's salary to get a better return but....LOL...NEVER happen with moths-in-my-pocket. Maybe a little more patience from Ramirez at the plate would be nice. Progress in getting his OBP% up to the .330 range by EOS would be good. I have a feeling he'll go on a tear when rosters expand and he can tee off on some scrubs too.
June 30Jun 30 My initial prediction was 71-91, and I then downgraded twice, first to 69-93, then to 67-95.We'll see what happens. We may be on that 72-90 projection now, but remember with the trade deadline, and inevitable shipment going out, I'll be surprised if we stay right there.the big question is what will we get back for whatever we ship out.Re: Sandy, I think we all figured he'd be better, though there has been improvement.....I'm sure there will be a team desperate enough to take a chance he'll regain form.....the question is what offers will we get for that chance........

Probably zilch.

June 30Jun 30 After the deadline and we ship guys off, we'll see more of our newer talent like DDLS and Joe Mack and whatnot and they'll be exciting and I'll be horny.
