The Jakob Marsee thread

First game: 1-for-2 with a double and THREE walks. Dude had a RIDICULOUS walk rate in the minors and already showing it right off the bat in the bigs. Looked entirely calm and comfortable at the plate. Incredibly impressed with his demeanor. Great debut.

Honestly think this kid is going to be a stud with that plate discipline.

If this is any indicator, no joke, he'll be leading off in no time. He saw SO MANY PITCHES tonight.

Honestly he probably should have been up sooner. There is no reason why Myers (and even Sanchez) should have been seeing ABs over him for such a long period of time.

Please don't say good things about him Polly. I beg you.

Crazy he was hitting .188 in as last year.

His defense is pretty solid too. Need to see a marsee's playground banner hanging in the outfield.

In Bendix we trust.

To be that patient on your first game in the bigs was pretty impressive. I didn’t realize how insanely good his BB% was in the minors.

They definitely had every reason to trade Sanchez and give the kid a shot.

29 pitches seen in his first career game.

Bonkers!

When the Arraez trade happened and Marsee started with a low BA in AA a lot of people were really down on the trade. But I have always loved Marsee. I was bigger on Marsee than I was on Dillon Head who was seen as the center piece. Marsee just always had an advanced approach at the plate, and the way we were running our system under Bendix, I just knew that he would flourish.

Another 15 pitches today, bringing him to 59 pitches seen over three days.

That includes a 2nd-pitch groundout and a 1st-pitch double.

Per the broadcast today, he’s the first player in over 100 years to have 4 walks and 4 extra base hits over his first 3 games

Since 1901 actually, which may as well just mean first-ever.
