September 23, 2025Sep 23 The 3 guys in the majors all have similar offensive numbers this year. Norby's year has to be considered a little bit of a disappointment, I think the organization would like for him to grab the reins, but Sanoja and Pauley I would say have been very pleasant surprises. They are also both younger than Norby. When he was drafted I have to think the organization was hoping that Jacob Berry would have already taken over as the starting 3B at the big leagues and 3B of the future. His minor league career, I think you can categorize as a disaster, but he did show signs of life at AAA this season.
September 24, 2025Sep 24 Likely answer is Aiva Arquette. He has played mostly short but has the frame and arm for third.Berry played more at 2b, and rf this year. He is not above average at any position. All of them are under 25, so plenty of time to separate
September 24, 2025Sep 24 I don't think the Marlins have one yet.Norby: He's shown flashes, but he hasn't been consistent enough. His defense has been disappointing, too.Pauley: Great glove, but I'm not sure about his bat.Sanoja: I actually really like him as an Alfredo Amezaga type of utility guy. He'll never be a regular starter, though.Berry: Thoroughly unimpressed with what he has done in the minors. Turns 25 next May so time is running out.
September 24, 2025Sep 24 Author Graham Pauley has better offensive numbers than Norby, and plays much much better defense. It's interesting that we're seeing mostly Norby at 3B.

Even if we only get a couple years out of him playing decent defense at SS would be valuable.
September 25, 2025Sep 25 I’m holding out for Anthony Rendón. I figure we can grab him from the Angels for a package of Thomas White, Kyle Stowers, and Eury Perez.
