I would guess just a more major league ready backup at CF with Jazz out a while. Neither player seems any good.

Yea, I took the easy joke. Actually looking at the player now, he is 32 and had a poor season last year. He also makes a lot of money apparently. There is a reason he was DFA’d last week. Bleier isn’t good either but I feel like free agent relievers may have offered better value, if we are actually spending.

Cooper's injury history is the reason I want Gurriel. Even if both are healthy one would easily be the best DH choice.

Thats fair. But he has no options remaining. It's either we give him another shot or give up on him. He has outhit Bleday at every level, and pretty handily at that. Both are similar ages. I think he could be a MLB quality player and dont want to give up yet. Last year we tried the BS in centerfield. I think that affected his bat.

Scott was sent to Pittsburgh in the Stallings deal.

I think Jesus Sanchez still has to be in the mix. He has hit everywhere but here.

The extra year certainly helps. And I do like Arraez. I am completely on board moving Pablo. It was time with the guys we have coming up. Giving up our second highest rated offensive prospect does hurt though. I dont feel like a prospect should have been required when we traded a 26 year old pitcher with 3 years in a row of a sub 4 ERA.

I could get behind Pablo for Arraez. Arraez is the type of player this lineup needs. Salas hurts and I feel like we gave up the better player, and a good prospect to boot.

Baseball wise I do not l understand the reluctance to play Jazz at his natural position. So, that makes me consider non baseball reasons. Is it fair to think the team is trying to lower his value for future extension talks? Obviously elite 2bs make a lot less on the market than elite shortstops do. I want Jazz to get an extension and the more team friendly it is the better. But playing wise this makes no sense.

I really want to see Jazz at SS. I always felt that gets the most value out of him. I'd still trade Wendle and go Groshans, Jazz and Segura at 2b, SS, 3b.

While Lewin’s numbers justify his DFA status, I wish we had given him more time with the club. He should have played all of last season to see what we had. instead, we wasted time with Aguilar.

Apparently it was the prospect the Marlins wanted with Torres is what caused that deal to fail. Of course team needs to get value, but this is the right time to deal him in my opinion. We have the arms ready to go. Getting a bonafide starting position player and a prospect would be ideal.

Very expected. I think a deal gets done this off-season.

Not liking Groshans numbers to be honest. Sub .250 and 1 homer this season in the minors. He’s not even a speed guy as he only has 2 steals. if a guy isn’t producing in the minors… yea I’m not hopeful.

So quiet….. and history doesn’t tell me it’s because that’s just how we operate and we will get something done. so many deals we should be making. At a minimum, Cooper or Aguilar has to go. I’d prefer both.

We should trade Rojas so Jazz can play shortstop (Wendle 2b). We should trade Cooper/Aguilar so Lewin can get every day at bats. Im sick of mediocrity blocking actual prospects. Lewin is fn 25. Its time.

Jazz 8th and 9th is starting to piss me off. He needs to be getting as many at bats as possible. Id put him in the 2 spot in this lineup. Rojas 8 and Berti 9.

How is Alex Jackson defensively? I used to care about offense mostly in catchers. After seeing how abysmal Alfaro is at his basic job, my thought has changed. Get a receiver first, don't worry about offense at all. Any offense is a plus.

Aguilar is a good player for us, but he is blocking Lewin Diaz who is 24 years old and should be playing everyday. We need to see if we have anything in him. I would trade Aguilar but Marlins seem reluctant.
