  1. Good for him, but bad for the team. We really needed him for this series against the Cards.
  2. It's kind of funny that they always mention attendance when they start talking about us. They always seem to state the obvious Yeah I know it's not very hard to notice that when you just see an ocean of orange.
  3. It's kind of funny that they always mention attendance when they start talking about us.
  4. Could? It WILL make or break us. I think we're going to take 7 against the Phils though, and I see the Mets resting a lot of guys against us as well. Hell, the Mets, in a way, want us to beat them. They'd rather have us in the playoffs than the Phils, just in case we win our way to the second round. They should just lay down for us. Hell! We handed them the division on a silver platter by giving them all of our players.
  5. Mets 7 times 4 of them at shea. Phillies 10 times 6 at DS. That is a pretty hard schdule this could either make or break us.
  6. I really don't like the post-2002 uniforms other than the black top. The new grey away jersey is nothing compared to the old one and the new home jersey isn't as good without the teal pinstripes. At least they got rid of that HIDEOUS Sunday alternate jersey from 2003 and 2004. I kind of liked the '03 and '04 alternate with the big ass F logo. I like that one too. I wish they would bring that jersey back.
  7. I say keep him. No one else could have done what he has done for this team. He has that Yankees winning spirit in him and is truely a leader.
  8. If we get the stadium it will be all because of Girardi.
  9. This should be a pretty solid lineup. 1) Hanley 2) Hermida 3) Cabrara 4) Uggla 5) Jacobs 6) Willingham 7) Olivo 8) Ross
  10. hey, i never said i wouldn't take him.. just saying ive never liked the guy. Jim Edmonds said good hustle to that guy :lol :lol :lol I just noticed that picture he put up. I guess he had an itch.
  11. hey, i never said i wouldn't take him.. just saying ive never liked the guy. Oh, ok. I don't like him either personally, but he's a good player and I would take him.
  12. the guy is an arrogant, showboating prick who likes to grab mens balls What do you have against Edmonds? He is one of the best CF out there not to mention he's very powerful.
  13. I just thought we should get one veteran player. If not him, then who else should we get for the CF role?
  14. I could see him on the Marlins at least for a season or two until the big guys are available like Andruw Jones or Vernon Wells. But it all depends on what he whats contract wise.
  15. Edmonds says he's 'in limbo' By Joe Strauss ST. LOUIS POST-DISPATCH 08/09/2006 "CINCINNATI ? Cardinals center fielder Jim Edmonds insists he will play next season but says he has resigned himself to the probability that it will be in a different uniform. His playing time diminished against lefthanded pitching, Edmonds on Tuesday said the club has placed him "in limbo" regarding its willingness to assume his contract's $10 million option for next season. The 2004 Silver Slugger recipient admitted frustration over a matter he once believed would be resolved by now. Edmonds now believes that it's more likely the Cardinals will pay him a $3 million buyout rather than assume the option. "That's the vibe I've been given," Edmonds said two hours before the second of the Cardinals' four-game series against the Cincinnati Reds. "It still is their option and it still is a decision that has to be formally made. But that seems to be where it's going." The previous two seasons Edmonds hinted broadly about the approaching end of his career and had previously sounded indifferent to what might happen if the club chose not to exercise its option. On Tuesday, Edmonds insisted he is committed to playing at least one and possibly two more seasons. "I've always had that decision. But I've always wanted to play next year. I wanted to play my contract out" with the Cardinals, Edmonds said. Edmonds said he long interpreted his connection to the club as more than a business relationship between a company and its employee. As part of that connection, Edmonds donated $1 million -- $200,000 each season from 2001-05 to the team's charitable arm, Cardinals Care. Cardinals Care unveiled Jim Edmonds Field in June 2001 in Forest Park Southeast. Edmonds also agreed to defer money from each season of his current deal. "I did a lot of things to sign here. I gave a lot of things back," said Edmonds, who agreed to a six-year contract extension plus the club option on May 12, 2000. "I must have been na?ve about it. I did those things to prove that I wanted to play here and care for this organization. "I just thought I would play that contract out. Now being in limbo, I don't really know what's going to happen." Club sources have admitted taking a wait-and-see approach about the option. Edmonds is coming off what he conceded to be his worst season as a Cardinal in 2005 (.263, 29 home runs, 89 RBIs) and has struggled for traction this year. The career .291 hitter entered Tuesday hitting .260 with 16 home runs and 59 RBIs. Regarding his reaction to an absence of information from the club, Edmonds said, "I wouldn't say disillusioned; maybe frustrated by being left in the dark." At least one member of the team's ownership group assured Edmonds in spring training that the club would pick up the option. Edmonds says he has heard nothing since. Asked if he took the March assurance at face value, Edmonds said, "I used to." "I'm not really going to say anything more," Edmonds added. "I was real concerned about it, obviously, trying to figure out what the team was going to do. I have a lot of things in St. Louis I would have to take care of when I leave. We'll have to deal with it when it comes." Edmonds 36, also became a father for the third time earlier this year, which has added to his perspective. "Right now, I'm just concerned with taking care of my family," he said. "I have another child now. It's one more concern that I have in trying to keep my family together. That will have something to do in my thinking about what I do next." Edmonds confirmed Tuesday that he would undergo right shoulder surgery shortly after the season ends to repair a partially torn rotator cuff, to remove bone spurs and to address an irregular joint. The eight-time Gold Glove Award winner underwent a similar procedure on his left shoulder after the 2003 season and says he has experienced no ill effects since. "I've talked to a doctor about it already and have been assured there will be no further problems with it" after surgery, Edmonds said. "He thinks it will go as well as the other one did. I'm pretty excited about it, actually." Edmonds was again out of the lineup against a lefthanded starting pitcher Tuesday as manager Tony La Russa opted to play So Taguchi in center against Eric Milton. La Russa has resisted describing the situation as a platoon. "I'm not going to say anything about it," Edmonds said."
  16. Many seems to have given up in this board. We may not win the WC but it will be disappointing if we don't threated the WC race until the very last day. I'm roooting for a 84 wins and be no more then 3 games back in the WC race. If we can do that, then it is definite a lock for next year when we improve and most likely our record will improve. There are still alot of games left in the season. We are only 6 games back in the WC. I still believe we can make it. It's going to be hard but if we support them by going to the games, then they can do it. They need our support.
  17. I also suggest we go out to the games and we make some f***ing noise for our fish that have brought us this far! I wish I were in So. Fla. for this reason. It just boggles my mind that hardly anybody shows up to the games. Cool!! your from Williamsburg, Virginia thats where my moms from.
  18. I don't like the Marlins going after a little fish like taveras, because he doesn't draw crowds. We are the type of team that should go for a Big Fish like Soriano. After we get the stadium Loria said that he would raise the payroll again, so I bet next year is the year something big is going to happen. They did try and nothing came of it. You do also realize that we are less than a year removed from a salary purge right? Right now, the Marlins are NOT the kind of team that goes after a big player (been tried with Pudge and Delgado and neither of them lasted very long here). Once the stadium is built, then yeah we can be that kind of team, but not any time before then. yeah, that's what I said when they get the stadium (knock on wood) something big is going to happen.

  20. That meeting sounded good. It should pump them up for this road trip. We'll get the Dodgers next time, but this time we will sweep them in there stadium or at least 2 out of 3. :thumbup
  21. We are slowly falling off the chart. :banghead
  22. we have looked like crap lately...... What do you expect? We have almost all rookies
  23. If we were going to make it to the playoffs. We really needed another bat in the lineup. the Marlins should of gotten Soriano from the nationals even if we couldn't of signed him next season.
  24. Why would the Braves trade Andruw Jones? when there only five games back in the wildcard and with Chipper out they are going to need him if they have any chance of making the playoffs.
