Alright I need your opinion/advice on buying a Macbook Pro
For those of us that aren't apart of the Mac world (me) what is this Leopard you speak of? Is it Mac's version of Vista or something? lol. the things vista has 'new' mac osx has been running for some 4-5 years now. as far as leopard, it's got some ridiculous features where if you have say a .mac account you can access your computer from anywhere. or time machine where if you delete something at any point in your computers history you can go back and find it just in a simple search. then of course its running a 64bit processor which absolutely freaking flys. they did a comparison at the keynote and opened a 4gb photo of the library of congress, the 32bit application took 84 seconds to load where as the 64bit leopard loaded the photo in 27 seconds. theres also core animation, quick look, stacks. shits gonna be ridiculous. if you don't like waiting 5 minutes to turn on your computer just to ctrl alt delete go buy your macbook pro now. the computers themselves are going to be the same as they've just released the new santa rosa intell processors with LED backlit displays (save 20% on battery life) but make sure you buy apple care because they'll take care of you if you do.

Matt Treanor...
After watching the game yesterday, i think he had one hit oppo in the 8th or 9th inning, but before that at bat, i couldn't remember the last time he'd done anything productive offensively. obviously he's only on the roster because he calls a decent game behind the plate, but honestly. what's he batting .210? someone bring be paul hoover or something.

NL All Star Shortstop
Eck wont go and Tony isnt dumb enough to pick him. He might take his catcher seeing as nobody but McAnn should be there now, but he wont take eckstein. Reyes is the only guarentee and I think 3 will go in total. Renteria, Hardy, Rollins and Ramirez with possibly Felipe Lopez from Washington will compete for the other 3 spots. The only reason I say Lopez is if Zimmerman doesnt go from Wash. 3rd base will be cluttered with cabby, wright and a-ram so zimmerman might not get elected. 2 months left so we'll see how it goes.

Digital Camcorder
I'm hearing amazing things about the Canon HV20, which is extremely new. It should cost you about $1000. Hi Def 1920x1080 resolution Low light capability Pseudo 24p mode 10x HD Zoom My brother and I are thinking about getting this camera. Most of the reviews I've read have been good ones. Here's a link from a New England photo and video store that has it for $999. Personally, I think it's too small, but it seems to be the only the prosumer HD-DV camera that has most of the features that our 6-year-old-very-beat-up-doesn't-work-half-the-time-but-still-trustworthy Canon Optura Pi has. if you could get a camcorder that records 24p and in high def for only $1000 you'd be stupid not to get it. what format is it on minidv?

Supreme Court: No Partial Birth Abortions
Good. Partial birth abortion is murder. Disgusting that it was even allowed to be practiced, electively, for 5+ years. To those that argue that its not, or just in general, if some idiot on the road hits and kills a pregnant mother why are they charged with 2 counts of vehicular manslaughter?

Thoughts After Week 1
I didn't say that i was extrapolating the stats for the whole year... i simply stated the stats for the past week, and assessed the team for the first week. Surely cabs and jacobs will slow down, When that happens and we're only scoring 2,3,4 runs a game, hopefully the pitching will step up.

Thoughts After Week 1
The hitting has carried the team. The OPS is .200+ over the league average. The starting pitching has been mediocre at best. I don't think any pitcher has gone 7 innings in any start. The bullpen, other than Julio, has been surprisingly dominant. Hopefully they keep it up but I'm not convinced they will. True, they haven't.... but it looks like Freddi has been very leary of letting a starter throw more than 100 pitches for the most part... i don't think anyone has thrown more than 105 in a game... i don't think any starter has had their best stuff, but they've taken what they have had, and made it work... and thats why we're winning games because they're keeping our team in the game.

How do you track someone down?
Sandroimbuto is a real person, not an actor. So we hired an actor to help tell his story: I was inan accident a few months back Yeah, thats right I was in an accident! and I am trying to take the guy that crashed into me to court. WOOO, LOOK OUT! LOOK OUT! I have his address, license plate #, insurance #; but the phone number he gave doesn't work and the sheriff's office could not get a hold of him the first time to give hiom his summons. Heyyyy, how's it goin'? How can I track the guy down? Geico. 15 minutes could save you 15% or more on car insurance. Yes, I watch too much TV. get a life. in other news that was pretty funny lol

Thoughts After Week 1
Offense: Well coming out of spring training, it looked like things were going to be fairly...interesting, or un-interesting for that matter...But, they came out of the gate flying. Scoring 45 runs in 7 games comes out to an average of 6.42 runs per game. That being said, that was with Uggs and Borchard batting below .100 for 5 1/2 of the games. I believe Hanley is a spark plug, very similar to what JP was in 2003 with the fish. We've seen nice production from Jacobs, and Hammer has looked solid at the plate as well. You have to love Olivo's hustle out there.... And then, what more can you say about De Aza. He's been nothing short of spectacular thus far. And as far as miggy....NL Player of the week is enough said. We also lead the league in batting average at .314 and in runs scored(45), hits, (65) doubles(17), triples(6), RBIs(39), and total bases!(118) Defense: The defense has also been stunning this far with only 2 errors in 7 games this season. Fielding % of .991. Also, Cabrera looks comfortable at 3rd, with the exception of that lazy play the other night where he just failed to get in front of the ball. Borchard looks a little lost in right field, if he doesn't pick things up I wouldn't mind seeing Fredi stick someone else in there until Hermida gets back. Maybe give Jason Wood a shot for a couple starts, maybe Almezega once Hanley gets back in the lineup. Overall defense looks solid. OH and how bout the job Jacobs has been doing at first! Starting Pitching: Dontrelle has looked solid in his first couple of starts, as he does every April, key for him is to not rush. He looks very good though. Scott Olsen, same with him... his attitude reminds me of a mix of AJ and Josh Beckett...but the dude can pitch, i think if it werne't for 2 innings he wouldn't have allowed any runs..The fact that he's able to limit the damage is a great sign of maturity and bouncing back. His start the other night was great how he gave up the two runs early, even when he didn't have his best stuff and he was still able to give his team some quality innings. Anibal needs to retain his concentration and he will be fine. He should be 2-0 right now. Sergio Mitre didn't pitch all that badly either. He had great control of his stuff and had a handfull of strikeouts over the 5 innings he pitched. Too bad his defense let him down, or else we might be talking about a 6-1 start. Bullpen: The bullpen with the exception of our **cough** closer has been phenomenal. Lidstrom, Gregg, Gardner, Owens, and dare i say it Messenger have looked superb coming out of the gates. If they can keep this up it will be a fun season. Also a good sign that Pinto came out throwing strikes tonight after his struggles yesterday. And for Jorge Julio...I guess its fortunate that we're not 3-4 right now Overall..a great first week, I'm not sure if it could have gone any better than us. And I think Fredi has done a nice job as well...he looks comfortable on that bench!!
