Everyone in Boston (Owners, Fans, Teammates) all are sick of manny. They put him on waivers a few years back they just want to get rid of him. If they can get a few guys back I can see it happening. I don't know if Hermida and Allison is enough though Completely different times. Back then Manny still had 80mil or so left on his contract and no one was touching that. With only 7 mil left it's obviously much more affordable.

he was dealing with hamstring problems for a while which may be the reason for recent struggles. Though he hasnt looked nearly as good in the #5 spot as his normal #2 spot which he finally got moved back to. #2 spot: .338 .437 .549 .986 (195 AB) #5 spot: .222 .315 .310 .625 (126 AB)

I doubt the Red Sox have any interest in Willis by himself, for one he'd probaly get picked apart in the AL even more than he already is

If Baltimore was smart they would have taken Manny/Clement, but to ask for Marte also is just complete bs. Adding Markakis wouldnt do much for me at all if Marte is in it because Marte is way better than Markakis and Clement and Manny is already overpaying. I have no problem keeping Manny and Clement, BALs loss.

If the Red Sox wouldnt even trade Marte for Crisp, why the hell would they trade him to get Gathright? Take out hte gathright and marte part and maybe it makes sense for the teams involved.

I dont see why the Red Sox wouldnt do this. They drop 20mil and add another young ace in Prior. That would give them a sick rotation of: 1. Prior 2. Schilling 3. Beckett 4. Wakefield 5. Clement/Papelbon and a future rotation 1. Prior 2. Beckett 3. Papelbon 4. Lester 5. Clement Um hell yea THe offense would lose some pop no doubt but obviously you still have guys like Varitek, Nixon, Ortiz, Loretta, Lowell, Marte, etc. Then trade Arroyo for Reed and continue to talk about a 3-way deal with the Pads and TB for Lugo and although a very long way off you would have: C Varitek 1B Youkillis 2B Loretta SS Lugo 3B Lowell/Marte LF ? CF Reed RF Nixon DH Oritz Not as good but hte pitching would definetly better, also Patterson may be included in the deal going to the Red Sox, obviously not good but might as well slide him into the 9 spot and you have a complete team.

wow dumb move. They knew dam right that a team would sign Jones , and passing up those picks was really an unsmart move. Even if they dont pick the "best" available player at that time in the draft, they could have easily told a lower level pick that they would pick them earlier then they would normally go and tell them how much money they will offer, much like the A's Moneyball draft. Better to have something than nothing.

the yankees are dumb at times but not dumb enough to trade a 22 yr 2B who can hit well for a 28 yr old Pierre, not happening.

nah Hanley isnt ready he was only a .270 hitter in AA last year so he needs time. Beckett a Red Sox!

hey guys thought id check up on my Marlins buddies. I see you guys have been doing well, Burnett especially. I think if hte Marlins make the playoffs that rotation can carry them a long way, well at least until they have to face the Red Sox in hte series

I think it would be something like. AJ Lowell Johnson Enc Willy Manny (cash) Arroyo Something along those lines. Personally, I dont want him. He has a place down here for those that dont know. But, do we need manny and ruin our chemistry? He would die be amusing to see and he is a future Hall of Famer so he could drawl. But, I doubt we would win. As for the Tampa, mets, bosox deal. The Red sox are getting hosed and that deal is hung up on two things. 1. The Mets want the Red Sox to pay for more then half of manny's salary 2. TB wants Hanely and Sanchez, not Schoppah (sp??) 880328[/snapback] If TB is holding out for Hanley AND Sanchez then they have to be the biggest dumb*** organization out there. There already getting Milledge, Petit, Sanchez and then they want Hanley also???? I say Theo should back away from this crap deal altogether unless you can deal Manny without including prospects, otherwise this trade sucks for hte Red Sox.
