  3. I mean this with all sincereity - what is the benefit to having season tickets? Surely you can get tickets to any game you want and you don't need to purchase 81 games... Very easy answer... discount tickets, discount parking, discont merchandise, same-seat for every game, access to season-ticket holder events... and so on and so forth. Savings are $2 here, $2 there, but it adds up to quite a lot... lol dont say same seat every game. Because every game I go to we buy fishtank tickets and then I move to 10-15 rows behind home. and im pretty sure thats what a lot of people do here....if there wise
  4. All the logic in not renewing because of the lack of respect shown to the customer, the lack of committment by the FO, the BS, all have a basis and if that is why you would rather lose the team that is your choice. Yet, when it comes down to it, why I argue for a publicly funded stadium because sports is not the same as a retail store who gives you a bad product, is the same reason I still renewed even while I am disgusted with the anguish thrust upon the fan base. It is a business, but a much different business to the community as a whole than a new furniture store. I have no need to describe the feeling walking in the stadium opening day in 1993 to anyone who loves baseball and finally had a major league team here, and while I never envisioned the roller coaster rides, the fire sales etc, I would rather have what we have than imagine the opposite feeling from 1993 I would have when it is announced the Florida Marlins are moving elsewhere. That would be worse than any hatred I have for how this team operates. So I will still root for whoever is out on the field and as long as the team is here there is hope for a change in ownership and direction. Once they are gone then we have a blank spot for the summer months to be filled by Dolphin talk radio. I fully agree with that sentiment. at least the Marlins can win a baseball game :cool . One of my dads friends is a season ticket holder for the Dolphins and he was telling me that for the past 2 years....that stadium has been pretty darn empty from what it used to be during fins games. is that true?
  5. whatever if we deal cabrera it will be a shame and really sad for me to see and watch. But w.e....... Beinfest I trust. Just get us a stadium. keep us in south florida.
  6. ? That's with helvetica I'm not gonna have a shirt with f*** on it, though. And yay or nay on the back? As far as teal goes...I'm colorblind so trying to pick out a teal color shirt is hard for me, and I don't see any color that specifically say "teal." That's the closest one to me that looked like teal, flipping between colors and a Marlin's logo. If somebody can pick out a closer teal color, that'd be gravy http://www.customink.com/styles/gildan-ultra-cotton-t/04600 That's just gray. They don't have a teal sh*t it seems, but they do have teal text. i love it but deff in black. if you make black as well i am in

  17. I gotta say. After reading that article, what a mistake it would be to let Joe Torre walk. thoughts? Accurate statement. But if they lose now, Torre may not want to come back regardless. How much more of this abuse, and the rampant speculation for years, can he take? . Your are right, its true. I think regardless even if they win this could be Joe's last year in a yankee uniform. I could be wrong but those were bold statements made by Steinbrenner. The problem does not lie within Torre its the pitching and struggling of offense within the post season except last night they did very well. I can see Joe retiring.
  18. NEW YORK -- Joe Torre's Yankees must advance to the American League Championship Series for the longtime manager to keep his job, owner George Steinbrenner said on Saturday. Speaking in a telephone interview with The Record of Hackensack, N.J., which published his remarks on Sunday, Steinbrenner said that Torre's 12-year run at the helm is at stake as the Yankees face a 0-2 deficit to the Indians in the American League Division Series. "His job is on the line," Steinbrenner told the newspaper. "I think we're paying him a lot of money. He's the highest-paid manager in baseball, so I don't think we'd take him back if we don't win this series." Torre, who has managed the Yankees since 1996, is earning $7 million this year. He is not under contract for the 2008 season, making him a notable potential free agent in a Yankees group that includes Jorge Posada, Mariano Rivera and perhaps Alex Rodriguez. "It's that time of year," Torre said. "It's what we do here. I've been here for 12 years. You try to do what you need to do, and that's make sure you concentrate on what you need to concentrate on. "Comments from above are certainly within someone's right to do that, there's no question, but for me to respond to it or feel more pressure from it -- then I think I'm doing a disservice to this organization. "I'm here to win ballgames and manage a ballclub. I do the best I can, and if it's decided it's not good enough, well, we've been here before. Then it's time for them to make a decision." Steinbrenner told The Record that Torre has "been good for us over the years," and the Yankees have made the playoffs in each of Torre's 12 seasons. But they are facing first-round elimination for the third consecutive season on Sunday. New York is pinning its Game 3 hopes on 45-year-old Roger Clemens, pitching opposite Cleveland's Jake Westbrook as the Indians try for the series sweep at Yankee Stadium. Torre said that the topic of Steinbrenner's comments did not come up in a pregame meeting he had with his players, sensing that the personality of his club was "fine." "Everybody seemed pretty loose," Torre said. "To me, when you're in the situation I'm in, your job is always on the line. I don't think that's any secret. If that's fair or unfair, that's not for me to decide. That's for someone else to decide. We just talked baseball out there. I don't think that's fair to add something more than we need to have." Addressing reporters on Saturday, Torre looked at the Yankees' 0-2 deficit and said that the club needed to find out what it is made of, and that it cannot take time to feel sorry for itself. complete coverage Home | News | Multimedia | Photos The 77-year-old Steinbrenner, who has reserved his words in recent years, instead opting to release most of his commentary through public relations man Howard Rubenstein, agreed with Torre's assessment. "I think that's a good statement," Steinbrenner said. "They'd better show what they're made of." Torre said that he understands criticism from Steinbrenner and the Yankees front office is a fact of life in the Bronx. This is not the first time he has come under fire in 2007 -- through Rubenstein, Steinbrenner offered a vote of confidence for Torre following the club's lackluster 21-29 start, while putting general manager Brian Cashman "on a big hook." Torre, who last spoke with Steinbrenner directly to go over the Yankees' ALDS roster, said that he had not been offered any such ultimatums -- win or else -- earlier in the season. "This time of year, it's always the same question," Torre said. "It was last year for a number of days after we lost to Detroit [in the ALDS]. It's certainly not something you enjoy having to put up with, but the fact of the matter is that it's what goes with the territory." In a wide-ranging interview with The Record, Steinbrenner also had choice words for umpire Bruce Froemming, the crew chief who opted to continue play in Friday's Game 2 despite swarms of small winged bugs, called midges, that unnerved rookie closer Joba Chamberlain in the eighth inning as Cleveland tied the game, which eventually ended in 11 innings with the Indians winning, 2-1. "He won't umpire our games anymore," Steinbrenner said of Froemming, who is retiring after this season. Steinbrenner also acknowledged Rodriguez's future, as the probable American League MVP remains hitless in this ALDS (entering Sunday's action) and in his last 19 postseason at-bats. "I think we'll re-sign him," Steinbrenner said of A-Rod. "I think he's going to have a good run the rest of the [postseason]. I think he realizes New York is the place to be, the place to play. A lot of this [postseason] is laying on his shoulders, you know, but I think he's up to it." Steinbrenner told the newspaper that he maintains full control over the Yankees, despite published reports of his failing health. "I'm doing all right," Steinbrenner said. "I'm fine." ---- I gotta say. After reading that article, what a mistake it would be to let Joe Torre walk. thoughts?
  19. thats terrible. I am sorry for your loss. RIP Thomas
  20. sorry for my language. Im just really happy the Mets lost because im sure it feels so horrible if your a fan of the muts
  21. WE did it to the Mets, we don't just peripherally enjoy it...WE did it. The Mets did it to themselves. If anything, the Nats did it to us. You just got to throw the last shovel of dirt on. Cry!! I didn't cry when we lost in '88 NLCS, I didn't cry when Kenny Rogers walked home the winning run of the '99 NLCS. It obviously hurts, but not enough to start crying over. your a bitch. and your team sucks. hahahahahaaa Mets are the scum of the world. Tonight is a good night for Mets fans
  22. Thank you Marlins. I am so freaking happy.
  23. "f*** the phillies" is by far my fav chant at a marlins game
