  1. Not only is he cheap, I don't see the prospect for regression that we saw in Gardner/Miller last year. I think his change is a plus pitch and he has a nice fastball to complement it. I think it's almost a given he will return next year. In terms of the pen next year I think two guys will have guaranteed spots: Lindstrom and Nelson. Add a FA reliever (hopefully Rhodes). I think the remaining 4 spots go to the best of a bunch of talented arms. edit: I forgot Pinto. He's pretty much a lock too.
  2. Conspiracy theory: Hanley's injured because he really wanted to finish over .300........ and f*** you TBS and MLB for blacking me out in central florida. And f*** bright house for not carrying FSN Florida.
  3. My God... this inning will never end.
  4. Maybe if they didn't treat each reliever so fragilely, the Mets bullpen would be a little bit better.
  5. I come back from class to see this crap. Without seeing the collapse, 1) Why Miller again 2) Is Kensing the ultimate non clutch pitcher? Put him in with a 5 run lead and he will dazzle. Give him something important and he will suck. What a joke of a managing job. If we all know this about the players, their is no excuse for Fredi to not understand these trends as well. Whatever/ Broken Record
  6. Ramirez SS Hermida RF Helms 3B Jacobs 1B Uggla 2B Willingham LF Maybin CF Treanor C Nolasco P Weird lineup. Why not go with LoDuca/ McPherson instead of Treanor/ Helms? Ang ugh at seeing Hermida batting 2nd and starting again.
  7. ? Former starter Ryan Tucker, who rejoined the Marlins on Tuesday, was used as a late-inning reliever at Double A Carolina the past six weeks but said ''they want me to keep an open mind'' about doing either role. . . . Kevin Gregg -- who's unlikely to return in 2009 but wants his closer job back despite knee pain -- said, ''If you stick me in as a set-up guy, you're devaluing my trade value. I've been in many conversations with Fredi Gonzalez and there's a lot of indecision going on.'' Gregg has 29 saves and nine blown saves. http://www.miamiherald.com/1262/story/689301.html
  8. I prefer Newhan v. Nelson over Loretta v. Rhodes. Nelson is good, these games are so stupid.
  9. This is very unnecessary.
  10. The only way I see Gregg getting another opp. is if Lindstrom is not available, having pitched multiple days in a row.
  11. Hanley's had a below average year, and needs to step up next year. I'm not very happy with his game right now (AVG way down, Defensive lapses, Refusing to take leads, etc). Yea the average sucks. To bad his OBP is higher this year, he leads baseball in VORP, his defense has improved despite primitive quantitative analysis of errors, and is arguably the best overall player in baseball in 2008. Refusing to take leads? Really? Seriously, I hope you were drunk when you typed this. Yes but........................... He would make much less errors if he would stop using his gigantic glove. He would put more pressure on the pitcher if he would at least pretend that he wanted to steal the bag. Yes his walks are up because no one pitches to him with RISP Yes he is also taking too big of a swing when he does get a good pitch to hit with RISP. The point is you should not feel worried when your "star" player comes up with RISP and less than 2 out. And no one has confidence with Hanley up there with RISP. Yes, he?s had a good year by baseball standards. But compared to what he?s capable of and what people make him out to be, he has not been that this year.
  12. ? All-Star Hanley Ramirez -- who leads NL shortstops with 20 errors and is hitting 36 points lower than last year's .332, and .216 with runners in scoring position -- insists his five-year, $70 million contract won't make him complacent. But one Marlins executive wants to see for himself. Marlins special assistant Andre Dawson said ''work ethic and hunger are telltale signs'' if a good player wants to improve. Does Ramirez have that? ''It remains to be seen, especially now that he's locked up,'' Dawson said. ``I'd like to see a bit more hunger. That's what makes you a team leader. His intensity is yet to reach that peak. And I want to see him cut his swing down in RBI situations. He's over-swinging. http://www.miamiherald.com/1262/story/679643.html I've been saying this all year. Hanley's become too concerned with the HR. Just look back at video from last year and you will see Hanley is taking a much bigger swing this year. Hanley's had a below average year, and needs to step up next year. I'm not very happy with his game right now (AVG way down, Defensive lapses, Refusing to take leads, etc). He's better than this.
  13. I vote for LaRusa. I love it when dumb managing finally helps us.
  14. This was the perfect time to announce this. The morning of a hurricane hitting New Orleans + Labor Day= this gets nowhere near the play it would get had it occurred on a normal day. That along with the convention stating tomorrow gives this less press then it would have received. I don't think most American's really care if her daughter was pregnant. It would only be an issue if she had an abortion.
  15. Great work. Just one minor correction. Gaby was voted the best defensive 1st baseman in the Carolina league. (Just one more reason to love him and get Jake the hell out of here).
  16. What a dumb article. Like were gonna call up kids 2+ years away from the bigs..... please.
  17. His hatred for Bill O?Rielly, who is nowhere near radical is humorous. Really? Bill O'Reilly isn't radical? Do I have to bring up the literally millions of insane things he has said? He's very moderate and refuses to take part in any of the over the top Obama bashing the likes of Hannity take part in. No where near radical. That's fine, keep living in your fantasy world. :thumbup I would be angry at O'Reilly myself if he started a petition to get me off the air like he did to Keith. Just one question.... Who is a bigger radical Keith or O'Rielly?

  19. Overbite has to be one of the most vindictive people I have ever seen in my life. I only watch him to get a good laugh. Especially his "worst persons in the world" where he basically takes normal comments from conservatives and makes them "outrageous". His hatred for Bill O?Rielly, who is nowhere near radical is humorous. I've heard he doesn't even believe some of the stuff he says. Also, can they put the camera any closer to his face? My god, lol.

  22. This is something that was inevitable to many of us. Everyday Pinto could only be Everyday Pinto for so long. He is spent. It's been obvious for a while now that he needs to be shut down. Shut him down before he hurts himself and hinders his ability next year.
