Comment on my Opening Day Lineup
Pudge is the sexy pick because of his name, not because of his production Im not picking pudge for his name. im picking him for his defense and solid offense. Baker = .267 .366 .442 = OPS+ 115 Pudge = .281 .326 .402 = OPS 92 Baker = Upside + Cheap Pudge = Downside + Expensive Pudge= solid offensively, solid defensively Baker= Good offensively, bad defensively Get what im sayin? No. Why do you say Baker is bad defensively?

Comment on my Opening Day Lineup
I want Hanley hitting 3rd the rest of the season. He's an extra base machine that is somewaht getting wasted hitting lead-off. He struggled the other timers he was moved down but he has to learn to hit down there.

MSNBC reporting Palin's daughter is 5 months pregnant
Rumors are beginning to form that Palin isn't going to actually be on the ticket. A GOP conference call this morning with reporters, where the speaking schedule was laid out, had no mention of her speaking as well. Good insight, dude. Did you read this gem in the same site that released her SS# and home phone #? ...

I'm sure there are posters on here that view Kos as a credible source. It's idiotic but that's the way it is. The Drudge Report for the most part only links various stories both from left and right leaning web sites. When he "breaks" a story (which is rare) he's usually correct.

MSNBC reporting Palin's daughter is 5 months pregnant
This was the perfect time to announce this. The morning of a hurricane hitting New Orleans + Labor Day= this gets nowhere near the play it would get had it occurred on a normal day. That along with the convention stating tomorrow gives this less press then it would have received. I don't think most American's really care if her daughter was pregnant. It would only be an issue if she had an abortion. If this really doesn't affect anything, why not just come out and say something the day she accepted the nomination? They had to know people were going to notice eventually and it really would have been a non-issue then. The way this is being handled is completely unfair to the pregnant daughter. Now she's a world-wide news story. The fact that Palin's daughter is 17 and pregnant doesn't make me question her ability as a politician, it's the way she handled the situation that makes me question her ability as a politician. Her approval ratings are in the 80s which is a rarity for someone two years into her term so I would say her skills as a politician are just fine. You may disagree with her views but that's a diffrent issue.

MSNBC reporting Palin's daughter is 5 months pregnant
Both sides play the same partisan games. It is ignorant to think otherwise. Well, certainly. In this instance, I was just pointing out the hypocrisy of the Republican side. I don't see the hypocrisy of the Republican side that you're talking about. If Sarah was pregnant and was having the baby aborted then I would agree but Bristol is the pregnant one and she's not running for office and she's not having the baby aborted so I don't see your point.

Pelfrey thinks he's good...
Cody is the one out of line here. He should take the base or go kick his ass. I'm not a fan of what he did which is talking like a tough guy without any action to back it up.

MSNBC reporting Palin's daughter is 5 months pregnant
Pretty much the only ones that seem to care are left wing nutjobs who already hated her and weren't going to vote for her. I don't care at all. My point was if the shoe were on the other foot.... Nobody would care, except for the right-wing versions of the left-wing assholes that will make a big deal about this... (assuming pending nuptuals, no abortion) If you can find one right-wing McCain supporter who is going to damn Palin for this, let me know. If the daughter was having an abortion McCain would have selected someone else for obvious reasons.

Best In-Season Move for the Fish?
Signing Hanley.

DailyKOS claims Trig Palin isn't Sarah's son
Bristol just looks a tad husky to me. And Bristol is a very interesting name, mama must be a NASCAR fan. There's a bay named Bristol and that's where the name came from.

Infield next year
C - Baker 1B - Sanchez 2B - Uggla SS - Hanley 3B - McPherson Cantu is a tough decision. He's had his share of big hits but his overall numbers are mediocre and his RISP number are bad. He would be fine if he was going to make minimum wage but with our limited budget I don't think he's worth $2 million. I wouldn't call 277. 22 HR 72 RBI mediocre... sounds more like solid... And his numbers with RISP are bad? 2 outs RISP .357 .471 .554 1.024 RISP 274 .354 .378 .732 Hanley would call those numbers AMAZING! Hanley's OPS with RISP is .814. Yeah his number of walks with RISP inflate that OPS, you could argue he's being pitched around, it's just his average that's bad, 222. MEH. The way I see it, his OBP says more than his AVG, especially concidering his average. He's getting absolutely nothing to hit because of the guys batting behind him. The way I see it, you're the only person I know of who seems to be satisfied with Hanley's RISP production.

And his .717 RISP OPS is bad.

8/31 Post Game
Olsen's trade value is plummeting.

8/30/08 Mets vs. Marlins
I was hoping Oliver Perez would get hit in the face. EDIT: And Cody gets picked off. :banghead What did he do?

Comparisons
The way people talk about Sanchez reminds me of Wally Joyner.

The only thing that sucks about tonight.
Baker has done enough to be the starter next year.

Tommy pissed
I didnt here fredi after the game did he answer any questions or gregg for that matter?. Did fredi give any inclination taht hed move gregg from the closer spot or was it the same old bs? They asked him about it but Fredi pulled a Hanley and didn't answer.

Post Game 8/28
It seems that if a team's best pitcher faces the Marlins, there's a chance of a win. But if it's a team's worst pitcher, the Marlins are more likely to lose. That's what it seems like because two morons named Rich and Tommy keep repeating that nonsense but just because the morons keep repeating it doesn't make it true. That's complete BS. We do a lot better vs crappy pitchers than vs the top pitchers.

Post Game 8/28
Oh boy. Mets coming to town and even the folks here have given up on the team. The stands will get ugly for sure this week end. A couple of months when we were about 10 games over .500 I made a thread asking people to post where they thought we would end up and you said we would end up at about .500. You gave up months ago.

Fredi 2009?
We?re the dumbest team in the game continuosly making the same stupid physical and mental errors. Our players don?t know what situational hitting is. They all have the same swing for every occasion. The manager gets some of the blame for all of this. I would dump him but I know there?s zero chance of that happening. I would also dump Andy Fox and Pressley.

MSNBC melting down
I got a good laugh watchign Shuster refer to himself as an independent. I hate that guy so much. Yeah, because Scarborough wasn't a former Republican politician or anything... And? Is there a point in you remark? Does Scarborough being a Republican somehow justify Shuster passing himself off as an independent?
