  1. Great, maybe he'll have one decent month in September.
  2. Why is the all time strikeout king for the Marlins giving hitting tips? :mischief2 Kids! Step away from the TV!
  3. What the hell does playoff experience have to do with anything? I never understood baseball analyst when the stated that.
  4. Who are we going to put to Set up if Urbina will close? No one in our bullpen can get out of all the jams Urbina has gotten out of. We are fine like this and we are winning. I'll have to agree with him here. Even though Urbina is definately a better closer, Urbina seems to always come in to pitch in the 7th or 8th inning when the Marlins are in a bit of a jam.
  5. Great numbers, except the strikeouts. But he has cut down on his strikeouts lately. I believe many of his strikeouts have come from chasing bad pitches, and being way to impatient on the plate. He will definate put some awesome numbers when he has the chance to play a full season.
  6. WOW! This kid is awesome. Not only does he have a strong arm, but it is accurate, too. He just gunned a fast runner in Eric Young from farely deep left field. And yes, Eric Young was safe, bad call by the ump, but the throw still beat him to homeplate. Some idiot a few days ago was saying that Cabrera has an "average" arm at best. I wonder what he has to say about this throw now?
  7. If he was an outfielder, I would be eager for him to take some days off. But, since he's a shortstop and his defense is needed in a everyday basis, I vote for him to stay.
  8. Preston was a great playa in a Marlins Uni... but now he is in coors and could be a HALL OF FAMER... i wish em da best luck, but watching JP this year we didnt get da short end da deal..... i say we got the better part the deal.... we saved $$$$$ on some dead beat hitters who couldnt really hit that well and WASHED UP Charles Johnson... JP only makes a mil this year and is a carrer 300 hitter and is on pace to steal 70+..... how can you not love this guy Hall of Famer? uhhh... don't get way ahead of yourself their buddy. Preston is still young in this league and has only shown that potential at Coors.
  9. arguable, but most would agree Rolen is better defensively than Lowell... but if he wins a GG, thats awesome The only real reason Scott Rolen is considered "better" than Lowell is because Rollen has a stronger arm.
  10. Willis has a great change and a curve. But I personally noticed that his velocity on his fastball has gone down a few notches, and has hurt him in the last few outings. In the beginning of the year his fastball was a constant 93 - 94 MPH. Now, the radar is saying 89 - 90 MPH. Has anybody noticed this?
  11. I couldn't vote for Brown because he went winless after July in 1997, and during the playoffs (NLCS, I beleive) when we needed him, he got the "flu" and he got sick often. Take some Vitamins Kevin please! That's exactly why I didn't vote for Kevin Brown. It seemed he was rarely their when the Marlins really needed him in the '97 playoffs. And I didn't vote for Dontrelle, cause it's just too early to tell. Hopefully it wont be a one year fluke. :unsure : So, I voted for A.J. since he has definately proven himself.
  12. How about the song "Wild Thing" ?? :confused
  13. He has a change-up. And yes, he is developing a split. But he throws both two-seam and four-seam fastballs. When you see a straight, 97 MPH fastball, and then the next pitch it's a 97 MPH fastball that moves away from you, it's hard to pick up. He has a changeup?? Really?? :mischief2
  14. In one of the last Marlin games, I believe Tommy Hutton said that Looper was starting to develop a splitter. Is this true? That would be awesome if he is. I'm sick of him throwing 95% fastballs. If he develops a splitter and a nice changeup, he will definately be in the elite class of closers.
  15. there is mlbtv on mlb.com, but they dont get every game Yeah, but I'm blacked out from MLB.tv. since I live in Florida.
  16. I live in Orlando, and I get all the Marlin games that are on FSN. But, I don't get the PAX games. Is there anyway to watch the Marlin games through the Internet?
  17. I originally heard his grand-ma gave him the name when he was a kid... Yeah, that's what I heard, too.
  18. 2 walks, I thought he was the all undestructable Jeff who K'ed everyone. Kid needs to stay in the minors until he learns to control his ego. I agree! Eventually he'll get rocked, and mature after that. A 5 run inning on him should definately straight him out.
  19. I do! I bought it off E-bay for like $5.
  20. There is an on going poll over at ESPN.com stating who's going to be the winning pitcher tonight. Go over there and change the tides! :angry http://msn.espn.go.com/
  21. So, who lives the furthest from South Florida and is a Marlins fan? I myself live in Central Florida and have been a fan since mid '90s or so. I'm actually strongly considering moving down south further to be closer to the Marlins.
