  1. I'm 19. This was years ago. Nobody bit.
  2. I LOVE to be that guy. Which is why your parents put you up for adoption.
  3. Glad he's interested in explaining whether he was calling South Florida a "sh*thole" or not. This place is a sh*t hole, seriously. This place is somewhere just about everyone wants to visit. Sh*thole: You make it sound like it's Birmingham, Alabama.
  4. Boomstick. Why does that guy hit 7th? He now has 10 home runs in only 24 post season games.
  5. I hate to be that guy but search is not working again.
  6. Brock Lesnar finally realizing he can't fight for real? Hey man, he was 106-5 in college, is a 2-time Juco All-American, a Juco heavyweight champion, a 2-time NCAA All-American, an NCAA heavyweight champion, a UFC heavyweight champion(which he unified with the interim championship) with two successful title defenses, and defended the title twice while suffering from diverticulitis (which is why he looks so much smaller in the WWE '12 ad). I'll venture to say he can fight.
  7. Why would Austin want to come back to fight Lesnar?
  8. NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!
  9. I don't think Gaby will ever be a monster, but he did have a 3 WAR last year batting around a .775 OPS. His BB rate went up, K rate down, LD rate up, and has become a solid if not above average defender. His brutal 2nd half has over shadowed this. I think he has a little more offensive potential here, around .800. He should be fairly consistent at this rate, and that's pretty damn good overall, let alone at club controlled and Arb1 and 2 prices. Signing a "name" for 1B would be fun, but the team is only getting better by 2-3 wins compared with a 5-6 WAR 1B. That's worth $18+ a season? Pretty bad expenditure of money. The only thing you're not accounting for is what we get after we trade Gaby. We'd only be getting better by 2-3 wins at 1B but whatever we get for him would help us out somewhere else.
  10. The fish tanks are the most unique part of the park. It's the thing that's going to be shown during telecast introductions before the announcers start talking. I'm going to preface this by saying I know a lot about fish tanks. I'm very afraid that the fish tank idea is going to fail miserably. Judging by the drawings of it, it looks like they are going with a salt water tank of about 500 gallons. The problem is that salt water fish are very sensitive to vibration. It stresses them out and stress kills fish. I Dead fish floating around in our tank sounds like a bad story. I'm going to laugh when Stanton fouls one back and all of these fish float to the top and turn upside down. I'm sure they'll design the tank to look like it is filled til the top with water, but about 1 foot of it will be covered by a black bar or something incase a fish dies you can't see it. Like a 1 foot censor across the top. I think even it was a salt water coral tank I would still like it. Hell, put in a bunch of good looking fake fish and It would still be unique. I'm sure it would be better them making them and then enclosing them after the fish die. It would still look great on camera without fish if you put a bunch of good looking coral. Yeah, I'm guessing this is where we're going to end up. I good looking reef tank will still be cool after all the fish end up dying off.
  11. can someone do a breakdown of what we have committed for next year? also if they trade nolasco that can free up 9 million for something else. Someone posted this earlier. http://www.mlbtraderumors.com/2011/10/offseason-outlook-florida-marlins.html

  13. I find it funny that only bumping the payroll $40M is what we'll consider as "Doing something".
  14. I liked everything besides Trips during the first segment, even Cena. But seriously, I've never seen anyone so effectively bury the entire roster at once before.
  15. WE SEE *rawr rawr* RED!
  16. For the record, bobbob meant FIU won today. Oh, and hey, FIU won.
  17. Wayne-o got the team, couldn't get a ballpark, so he broke apart the team after winning a title and sold it. Henry got the team, tried to get a ballpark a bit, couldn't do it, jumped ship. Loria got the team, put in a little extra money to get key free agents in 03, won us a title, kept the core of the team around for a couple more years, picked up the biggest FA in the market in 2005, nobody showed up. Even with that and rising debt, he kept fighting for the ballpark and, even though it looked bleak as hell, he ended up doing it. Now he's bring us into what might be the nicest ballpark in the big leagues and is putting more money in the team. He's easily the best owner we've had.
  18. But Reyes is really good. Rollins is 33 next year and has been, at best, an average bat since after he won the MVP in 2007. It'd be like overpaying for Omar Infante. Also, Rollins is going to be looking for AT LEAST $10M per year. Supposedly he was looking for a 4 years, $14M per.
  19. I like woman who like hockey.
  20. Vince Russo has been demoted from head of creative. Bruce Prichard is now in charge. Russo still writes TV, but Prichard sets the overall direction and must approve all the scripts. Source: Prowrestling.net I was completely unaware that Brother Love was working at TNA. He started working backstage producing vignettes, then took over Terry Taylor's role of head of talent relations, and now he's head writer. He should write a book on how to climb the ladder so quickly. The answer is "work in the business forever", "have your best days behind you", and "go to a company that makes questionable decisions".
  21. Heh, I still remember when this first came out. That was John Mayer at the A's/Red Sox series in Japan that opened the 2008 season.

  23. Rab like hockey too.
  24. Hanley probably accounted for more wins than Gonzalez and Renteria combined. Maybe even double that. Yeah but Renteria accounted for a bigger win than Hanley has ever come close to getting. Now that I think of it, same with Gonzalez. Then again, those were both teams that were built fundamentally sound, starting with players who could field their positions. Be careful, you kind of said something positive about Beinfest! Don't worry, soon enough we'll be reminded that Beinfest basically had nothing to do with 2003.
  25. I'm thinking it will be better in person because it won't be as cartoonish... Probably still be pretty bad. Really, the only thing that can make it look worse is being it being in Portland, so I'll get over it.
