WHAT DOES ALFREDO AMEZAGA HAVE TO DO TO HIT HIGHER THAN EIGHTH? WILL HE TOMORROW?

Thoughts on Fredi's decisions
i really wanna try to like him too and to understand what he's doing. beinfest, who i consider the smartest man in the world, picked him so that says a lot imo. but his decisions continue to be curious, if not baffling at times. why is gregg pitching at the end of the game if your gonna let obermueller pitch early on? he needed work? are we going to hear early next week that gregg needs rest?

Thoughts on Fredi's decisions
another situation where all i can do is wonder if fredi is actually trying to lose baseball games rather than win them. if anybody understands fredi's decisions or feels like defending them, please, i am all ears, enlighten me. replacing dontrelle immediately with olbermueller would've been one thing, but how do you seriously put in wes after alfredo's 3 run homer? 8-5 at home definitely makes it a ballgame again. anybody who actually truly wants to win has to believe 8-5 at home entering the 6th leaves you with a decent shot. if fredi really expected wes to strand that runner on 2nd and not allow any more runs, thats extremely silly and i am speechless. otherwise, it seems as though once again fredi does not know who to bring in and when to bring in them. or, maybe our manager needs training in being more competitive. it just seems very basic to me: don't bring in the minor league long relief pitcher after the team has rallied to cut the deficit in half and make the game more, not less, competitive. i'm no erasmo ramirez fan and i know this isn't fredi's decision but if obermueller isn't sent down after tonight, will he ever be as a result of his continually terrible performance? and please don't even try to tell me fredi had to save the bullpen. with that reasoning, wood should've pitched from the moment it was 8-1

Treanor Vs. Olivo
at this point treanor can definitely hit his way out of a paper bag, he is now hitting in the .290s and is vastly superior in the field to olivo, who has been worse than garbage unless he's facing bob wickman most of all, olivo continues to be a catcher who simply cannot catch, it seems like he has passed balls/misplays every game, treanor deserves a chance after tonight, he can't be much worse

Is Fredi really serious?
2/3 on the road is unacceptable Yeah. Damn them for not getting that sweep! Damn them for not going a perfect 7-0 on the road trip through the two best pitching staffs in the national league. Damn them for thinking 4 out of 7 is good baseball. What a bunch of schmoes! FIRE FREDDI!?!@> FIRE BEINFEST!IO_#!@# man you guys are so smart, you really put me in my place, thats some real intelligence nobody said damn them, or anything about going perfect it was about not letting the f***ing pitcher hit with 0 out and 2 in scoring position with no games for 4 days Damn you fools for making mountains out of molehills and continuing to post bs and sarcasm

Is Fredi really serious?
we'll just have to agree to disagree, we're never gonna have a big inning when you let the pitcher (not dontrelle, sometimes not olsen) hit with runners on 2nd and 3rd and no out, and obermueller isn't even in the game now anyway, someone could've thrown that 1 extra inning
-
Is Fredi really serious?
i understand what you guys are saying and its not fredi's fault olsen got hurt but over the span of the season, when hes not making the wrong decisions about who to bring in, fredi babies the bullpen and has thrown in the towel early, with runners on base and no outs, a bunch of times, its the day b4 the AS break and this is just a microcosm the way he has handled certain games in the 1st half
-
Is Fredi really serious?
top of the 3rd, down by 8 runs, ok any other day probably throw in the towel which we all know fredi loves to do, but the game b4 the AS break, let obermueller hit with runners on 2nd and 3rd so he can make an out and continue to give up 5 runs an inning? who knows maybe we could score 3 or 4 against hendrickson with a pinch hit, but no, strikeout for wes, fredi continues to be a puss. saving the bullpen because the 4 days off it has coming up just isnt enough? how many times has wes been left to hit in these early situations? way to surrender before the 5th inning again fredi. Its called long relief. he gave up 5 runs in his 1st inning and you're really gonna tell me that, give me a break

Request: Samson's first foul ball
On Saturday, Cabrera got the ball rolling in the fourth for the Marlins after fouling a 3-1 pitch into the stands, which Samson -- part of the crowd of 46,177 -- reached out and caught. When Cabrera homered just over the right-field wall, Samson saluted the Marlins' only All-Star by pointing to the slugger as he crossed home plate. ''Really?'' Cabrera replied when told Samson had caught one of his foul balls. ``Unbelievable. I knew he can swim and run, but I didn't know he could catch the ball.'' Cabrera was referring to Samson's completion of last year's Ironman Triathlon in Hawaii.

LA Game 2 thoughts
July 6 - July 7, 2007 Hanley Ramirez is a Baseball God 7/10, 2 2b, 2 hr, 3 rbi, 4 r, 2 sb, and countless magnificent plays in the field Good for Mitre Is Benitez hurt? What's with the baserunning, Fredi? The team your leading has the mental focus of a 3 year old at times. Great to head into the break with a series win

Alfredo
Since he has begun to play almost every day, Amezaga has shown that he has the ability to get on base in a number of ways and then steal bases once he is on. He has played especially well on this current trip. As Tommy notes every night, he is hitting around .300 when he leads off. Alfredo could be another potential baserunner for miggy, jake, and hammer rather than being wasted at 8. I understand that the 8 spot is tough with the pitcher following but moving Fredo up would make the lineup much deeper. He is also speedier than Uggla whose strong bat could be moved to more of a true RBI spot. I don't know whether I like miggy batting 3rd or 4th more. Either way he'll be his spectacular self, but the person hitting in front of him will benefit greatly if he hits 4th (like when Jake started hitting 3rd last year and went on his tear). I'm thinking of lineups like these. Hanley Alfredo Miggy Jake Uggla Hammer Hermida Olivo P Hanley Alfredo Jake Miggy Uggla Hammer Hermida Olivo P Thoughts???

Right Field
hello all, i have unsuccessfully tried many times before but this is my 1st ever post to this board. i have read the site the past few years and am very happy to finally be able to join in the conversation. hermida is nauseating in right field. he is never under a ball waiting for it and on occasion he does stuff that should only be reserved for tee ball (as tommy previously noted). how can hermida possibly be allowed to start either of the next two games after doing something like that tonight? oh ya, i guess the answer is joe borchard, todd linden, and eric reed. but make no mistake, HERMIDA BLOWS.
