Since we are in a sharing mood...Friend of mine snapped some pics of the new stadium. This was from the beginning of December: There are a bunch more but I'm too lazy to post em. Enjoy.

Marlins to seek relief help and lefty bat at Meetings
Reports have Takahashi about to sign with the LA Angels. Honestly, what I want out of the Winter Meetings is someone who can play 3rd. I'm not very comfortable going into ST with the two leading candidates at that position being a previously failed starter and a minor leaguer who projects to hit .220 next year if he played full-time. I'd much rather have a third baseman who can start or come off of the bench in case those two candidates don't work out. No, Wes Helms doesn't cut it. Nunez would be a nice guy to keep, but I'd almost rather send him to a team in exchange for someone who can fill that 3rd base gap. Wouldnt a real cf solve that issue and more? Cogs could.fill in at 3rd till dominguez is ready and we could have a true cf for more than 1 season. Just a thought.

News on Johnson Contract Talks
Really, I don't understand why there's so much pressure on the Marlins to get a long-term deal done with Johnson. If I was JJ, I would take whatever security blanket the team would offer me and run with it. From the FO's point of view, if they don't get a deal done this offseason, JJ just has to prove all over again in the '10 season that he's worthy of some team offering him a long term deal, whether it be the Marlins or his suitors once he hits free agency. If JJ underperforms next year, the Marlins look like geniuses for avoiding the long-term deal with a pitcher who didn't live up to expectations. If JJ is lights out once again, the Marlins are still paying a "fair" market value for an elite pitcher through arbitration, and JJ probably earned what he was making. Plus, if he does maintain his high level of performance, there will always be a demand for him on the trade market, no matter how much money he's making through arbitration. It all boils down to JJ. Does he want to prove year after year that he's the caliber of pitcher that everyone thinks he is and chance losing his value on the open market if he underperforms or has a recurring arm injury, or would he prefer to take a lesser amount of money now for the security of the 3 year deal? I agree 100% with this. If I'm JJ I take that contract and guarantee myself and family a good living no matter what happens. After the 3 years are up if I've performed THEN I will holdout for a badass contract. Too dangerous gambling with my entire future for another year and a few mil.

Any chance the Stadium gets completed early?
Way to bring this thread back. The stadium has been done for two weeks now.

Free Ownership
It seem more and more people have this mindset that no one should be making money. He made some good moves and has made some money. Do you really think his goal should be to make no profit and find an equilibrium? FFS.

So the marlins moved like a crab with this move?

How much turnover will the Florida Marlins have?
Lou do you really feel they will move CC to 2B instead of putting Bonifacio at 2nd and leaving CC in left? Hmmm. I guess they would do this so they could have another amezega type...but then again it doesnt seem the marlins are going to back down from trying to start bonifacio and 2nd seems the only real spot for him.

I will say it does not get completed early but instead will be considered finished "on time."

When you're one of the best you can have a hussy fit here and there. I think you need to judge a performance based on the decisions made and not "our payroll was low blah blah.". With a better manager we would have won more games. I want someone to tell me I'm wrong. We won this many games because the marlins players are talented, not because fredi made hanley Or anyone perform better than they are. Fredi made some good decisions but I think the overall feeling is that he missmanaged the bullpen and sp while making too many BIG ingame mistakes. I say let him go if we have a better replacement. He's going to be gone in 2 yrs anyways.
