    Look who's using Tapatalk now.
  2. 5 years is way too long. Where is he going to play when he cant play 2b anymore? LF/1b? Ouch. Still going to be atrocious. Uggla should be DHing in 2 years, but he won't.
  3. Since we are in a sharing mood...Friend of mine snapped some pics of the new stadium. This was from the beginning of December: There are a bunch more but I'm too lazy to post em. Enjoy.
  4. Reports have Takahashi about to sign with the LA Angels. Honestly, what I want out of the Winter Meetings is someone who can play 3rd. I'm not very comfortable going into ST with the two leading candidates at that position being a previously failed starter and a minor leaguer who projects to hit .220 next year if he played full-time. I'd much rather have a third baseman who can start or come off of the bench in case those two candidates don't work out. No, Wes Helms doesn't cut it. Nunez would be a nice guy to keep, but I'd almost rather send him to a team in exchange for someone who can fill that 3rd base gap. Wouldnt a real cf solve that issue and more? Cogs could.fill in at 3rd till dominguez is ready and we could have a true cf for more than 1 season. Just a thought.
  5. This has been a very exciting offseason.
  6. But so many people buy his jersey...
  7. Really, I don't understand why there's so much pressure on the Marlins to get a long-term deal done with Johnson. If I was JJ, I would take whatever security blanket the team would offer me and run with it. From the FO's point of view, if they don't get a deal done this offseason, JJ just has to prove all over again in the '10 season that he's worthy of some team offering him a long term deal, whether it be the Marlins or his suitors once he hits free agency. If JJ underperforms next year, the Marlins look like geniuses for avoiding the long-term deal with a pitcher who didn't live up to expectations. If JJ is lights out once again, the Marlins are still paying a "fair" market value for an elite pitcher through arbitration, and JJ probably earned what he was making. Plus, if he does maintain his high level of performance, there will always be a demand for him on the trade market, no matter how much money he's making through arbitration. It all boils down to JJ. Does he want to prove year after year that he's the caliber of pitcher that everyone thinks he is and chance losing his value on the open market if he underperforms or has a recurring arm injury, or would he prefer to take a lesser amount of money now for the security of the 3 year deal? I agree 100% with this. If I'm JJ I take that contract and guarantee myself and family a good living no matter what happens. After the 3 years are up if I've performed THEN I will holdout for a badass contract. Too dangerous gambling with my entire future for another year and a few mil.
  8. Way to bring this thread back. The stadium has been done for two weeks now.
  9. It seem more and more people have this mindset that no one should be making money. He made some good moves and has made some money. Do you really think his goal should be to make no profit and find an equilibrium? FFS.
  10. So the marlins moved like a crab with this move?
  11. Lou do you really feel they will move CC to 2B instead of putting Bonifacio at 2nd and leaving CC in left? Hmmm. I guess they would do this so they could have another amezega type...but then again it doesnt seem the marlins are going to back down from trying to start bonifacio and 2nd seems the only real spot for him.
  12. I will say it does not get completed early but instead will be considered finished "on time."

Watched a while of it and its pretty good. But to chose this over the other mainstream sports is just...not gonna happen often.
  14. When you're one of the best you can have a hussy fit here and there. I think you need to judge a performance based on the decisions made and not "our payroll was low blah blah.". With a better manager we would have won more games. I want someone to tell me I'm wrong. We won this many games because the marlins players are talented, not because fredi made hanley Or anyone perform better than they are. Fredi made some good decisions but I think the overall feeling is that he missmanaged the bullpen and sp while making too many BIG ingame mistakes. I say let him go if we have a better replacement. He's going to be gone in 2 yrs anyways.
  15. I don't want to hear anyone say CC doesn't get recognized by the media. http://www.break.com/pictures/my-heart-goes-out-to-this-guy1265532.html
  16. If you want to blame a anything blame our defense.
  17. I think you guys are missing two big defensive issues that really cost us the game.
  18. Cantu should be the one to go. Ross and Uggla are superior players. Uggla can be bought out, he wants to be bought out, and the team is not going to be able to replace his value with anything currently in our system. Cantu can be replaced right away. who would replace him?
  19. If I'm JJ I take the deal. Guaranteed money is always a good thing especially if I'm a pitcher who went through tommy john. Even w/out surgery I take this deal. Set for life vs taking a risk to get a few mil more? Nah no thanks.
  20. I turned the TV off once I saw EB walking to the plate. WHY send a pos when you can send at least 2 other decent pinch hitters? If you want to sacrifice, then send someone WHO CAN ACTUALLY BUNT (which to me wasn't a good decision anyways. Maybe if we were down by 1 at the time, but not when behind by three.) It was just a pathetic decision. Too bad we can't tell how many games we've won/lost because of this clowns decisions although we can all guess we've lost more than won.

That's why you're not in business. Unions are not going to go quietly into the still night. Just like the city and county cops fighting over the territories at the new stadium. And part of the game is a Matt Treanor pulling a pitch into the strikezone like Chris Angel making you believe he can really levitate some girl in front of a casino in Vegas. BTW "Robot Baseball" is posted here somewhere I think. It's hilarious. Boog Sciambi narrates. The strikezone is one thing, noone is really talking about instant replay for that. It's the fair/foul, HR/Double thing that I am talking about. But to say the game should be imperfect because it's always been an imperfect game is the kind of thing that always delays progress. And I am in business. I am in the progress business. I agree 100%. I think it should be replay by umpire proximity. If there isn't an ump w/in "x" amount of feet from where the ball first lands or stops, it should go to replay if the managers want. Give the managers a red baseball and have them throw it onto the field. They get one replay a game. Would be pretty awesome if you ask me. Imagine a pissed Ozzie Guillen throwing that ball onto the field. Smashing it down with all his might. :thumbup
  22. they should do the dark blue, and design a fish behind home plate to make the view from a distance when the roof is open of the Marlin. Oooooooh. I like this idea.
  23. Sign. I'm just going to ignore this guys posts from now on. Lawsuit this, firemen that. I don't think he realizes that they just don't matter. Its basically FAKE NEWS. These "issues" are there but they have zero chance of screwing over the marlins stadium. Writers need to make sh*t up because every time we've tried to get a stadium there have been REAL and LEGITIMATE hurdles. Now that we've cleared ALL hurdles, they are pulling our the most random and retarded crap and acting like it has any merit. After this lawsuit gets dropped and the firemen + cops are done pretending to care so much, I bet there will be some new dumb issue that people will read about. Then I will come onto this forum and read a post by miamibaseball saying how they marlins are going to have to demolish what they have already built because the wildlife association has found a rare species of bugs that only lives where the OB used to stand because it can only live off of old beer that has soaked into the ground. Come on already. You do know the deal is done and finished right? As in everything signed etc. Fin.
  24. Not a doubt in my mind. I'm just thinking about how awesome my view is going to be during home games since I'm buying season tix for the new park.
