  1. You guys, I just read this on ESPN and I must say I totally empathize with the D-Train. I've been taking anxiety meds for like, the last decade(TMI?). Even medicated, when you are stressed at work (which he and I both are), it's very hard to deal. I hope he gets a good prescription that helps him function...I got his back forever!
  2. Yea, that Hanley who is 0-4 today, and is hitting .077 for the spring. Should have traded him with Frankie De La Cruz for cash and a few bats. Guys, jk. You beat me to the punch. I am increasingly worried that Hanley is kind of doing what Francouer did last year, gaining all that upper-body muscle weight in the offseason with the intent of increasing power numbers and driving in more runs. I really hope he doesn't put too much pressure on himself come April 6. We really need him to just relax and not press. But I'm worried.
  3. I don't read the new stadium forum. There's more potential bad news there than good. i knowww man it was too depressing for so long but now we're free at last!
  4. That was a sweet comeback. The farmhands really impressed me late in the game, especially Cousins. I'm feeling better about the future.
  5. F this game. It is nice to hear Rich and Tommy back together. April 6 get here NOW.
  6. Whatever...the national commentators are always talking sh*t when they do happen to call our games. I prefer Rich and Tommy anyway because they are huge Marlins homers and I love them for it!
  7. Mez's value had nothing to do with his bat. His versatility is extremely valuable and this will be a loss. That said, we do have an Amezaga-lite in Bonifacio. His versatility and his...Alfredoness. He's just a joy to watch play, or just sitting in the dugout.
  8. This is upsetting news. Amezaga is our secret weapon. Hopefully he can be unleashed sometime in April... Our secret weapon who had a .312 OBP and an OPS under .700. I'm devestated :| I am curious to know his numbers for the second half of the year. Seems I recall being upset at his lack of production early on and then being surprised with what seemed to be a very competent showing later on. Amezaga 99.9 percent of the time does something awesome in a game that gives the Fish a chance. Thanks for backing me up, Tallahassee dude. I live in Tally...rep da 850!
  9. This is upsetting news. Amezaga is our secret weapon. Hopefully he can be unleashed sometime in April...
  10. Wow...how embarrassing. And my newspaper's editor is huge Mets homer.
  11. hopefully the less stress improves his hitting game. Less stress? He always looked pretty care-free to me out there... lol LOL yeah, he's always got that look like he could care less about being in the big leagues.
  12. Ted Kennedy? Oh darn. That's not a dignified way to react. He has brain cancer and had a seizure in the middle of the luncheon. And the President responded immediately.
  13. HELLLL TO THE NOOOOOOO. Andruw Jones circa 1998, absolutely. Andruw Jones present day, no effing way! His career jumped the shark two years ago.
  14. I just happened to turn to that channel five minutes before the walkoff. The timing couldn't have been more perfect. I recorded the last inning on my DVR. Ross...right-center field...and deep.......BALLGAAAME!
  15. Hanley looks sexy on anybody's wall :thumbup Dude, he looks soooooooo sexy on my wall. So defined. OK, so I patted his ass this morning before I left for work. I just wanted to make sure it was on right...
  16. Hey guys! I haven't really posted on here since I started my job a few months ago (Long gone are the summer days spent entirely on this site). I've been back to peruse here and there, and I found a Hanley fathead thread a while back. I thought it looked quite badass, so I e-mailed the link to my work pal and my dad, with the subject line "All I want for Hanukkah." but really...I'm a grownup professional woman...I wasn't serious about hanging a pro athlete on my wall. Well, guess what daddio got me for Hanukkah. You guessed it. And it's awesome.
  17. True story -- A few weeks ago I was flipping channels and I saw O'Reilly calling out his guest -- Ann Coulter -- for her "Barack Hussein" obsession, always attaching his middle name at any opportunity. I almost crapped my pants. I was like, is this real? "I just think it's dopey," he kept saying. I was kind of proud of him like a mother is of her toddler learning to use the toilet. I made the switch from CNN to MSNBC this year just because I'm sick of CNN's friggin Election Center... on primary election nights there were like 35 analysts and pundits in the room all scrambling for their talking points. And Amy Holmes annoys the crap out of me. Wolf Blitzer is the most annoying on live television -- he cant get a damn word out, he's always stuttering, "uh, uh, uh..." I've always casually enjoyed Countdown and Olbermann's feud with O'Reilly. It's like MSNBC is the anti-FOX News...but at the same time, it's no better journalistically. But it's basically preaching to the choir like Fox...but without all the Bush propaganda. The loss of Tim Russert is a huge blow. My mom and I talked about how he should have been on the panel at the DNC...it wasn't the same without his professionalism. By the way...MSNBC has given RACHEL MADDOW her OWN SHOW that will debut after Countdown next week. I'm so excited because she is fantastic. I think she will be the saving grace of the network. She's become wildly popular in a very short period of time. I thought I was alone in my admiration until I saw how nuts the people at the DNC went for her.
  18. I'm afraid it's over. I concur. It's a damn shame that as soon as the starting pitching fell into place, the rest of the team crapped out. It was a long time coming, I suppose. The power hitting days are over because the scouting reports are out and 'the jig is up' and pitchers know the lineup's blatantly obvious weaknesses. It's sad, but at least I have a life now.
  19. Smoking weed will take that pain away... I knowwww but I can't...too risky right now. I'm kind of okay with it though.
  20. ^congrats. Thanks.
  21. UPDATE: I passed with flying colors. Didn't even have to drink a concoction. Two weeks clean and going strong. I start on Monday, and I will cover prep sports. I haven't been on here at all because I've been so busy moving back to Tally, although I had to push the move back a week due to emergency wisdom teeth removal surgery. The meds (mainly lortab) made me too woozy to do anything. Still recovering from jaw pain. Now that I'm finally starting my career and have to start paying for everything now (and fear random tests in the first few months), I probably won't be spending my money on the sticky icky. Wine and beer will have to be adequate substitutes.
  22. I think it goes Phil's, Marlins then Mets. The Mets without Wagner seem to be in disarray The Mets WITH Wagner weren't so hot either.
  23. Shouldn't have smoked that crap. Maybe not, but it's not as if I was continually injecting myself with something that's actually dangerous. Nor was I hurting anyone.
  24. Look at all the drug addicts we have in this thread. :bandit :rasta Aw dude, the rasta is just rubbing it in. I'm sooo not an addict. I think I went like 10 days without it in February...it's my only 'vice.' Hopefully packing, moving and finding a place to live will keep me busy and distracted. How many cups of cranberry juice should I drink every day for the next 10 days? And water too?
