March 24, 200917 yr I realize there is a stadium forum, but I'm just a little surprised there's not anything in the main forum about the new stadium. After over 15 years and countless failed attempts I thought for sure there would be some exuberance over the new stadium. Is everyone sleeping in after the marathon county meeting?

Every1 is so beat right now... I don't think there is much energy left. Through the chair.
March 24, 200917 yr The Marlins are trying to get a stadium ?? :headscratch ALRIGHT !!!!!!!! WHOOAAA !!!!! It's about time they started working on some new digs..
March 24, 200917 yr I don't read the new stadium forum. There's more potential bad news there than good.
March 24, 200917 yr The Marlins are trying to get a stadium ?? :headscratch ALRIGHT !!!!!!!! WHOOAAA !!!!! It's about time they started working on some new digs.. Seriously! Dolphins stadium has been terrible. I'm glad they are considering a new stadium. I wonder how long the process will be to get financing? Where will the build it?
March 24, 200917 yr not final till july 1st (i think thats the date). and you know how many times we've been f***ed over. don't start celebrating yet, jus sayin
March 24, 200917 yr Vinivedivichi, through the chair, the reason for this is that we have a forum that's just for Stadium talk, so we keep all of that there for organization's sake. If you go look at the "County Meeting Thread", there is a ton of exuberance.

I dont know but i heard they might be thinking about the bicentennial site. I say go for it. yeah that would be a good site, if not there they can try the hialeah race track. it hasn't been used in so long. I also heard UM is thinking about moving from the orange bowl and going to play at Dolphins Stadium. I wonder if we can just renovate the OB or something?
March 24, 200917 yr Why pay over $500m for a new stadium, and go through all the stress of trying to get the proposals to be accepted by the City and County when we could just move up the road and make Roger Dean Stadium our regular season home? I mean it makes sense cos it would be a full house every night (surely) with a capacity of just under 7,000. While we are at it, we can change our name to the Jupiter Jesters and the players can wear clown suits when they play since we are the laughing stock of the league?

I mean, how long could it take?

I doubt it would be sold out every night.
March 24, 200917 yr I wonder what kinda park it will be, a hitters or pitchers? Id imagine pitchers since the FO here is going for the whole speed and D thing.
March 24, 200917 yr I don't read the new stadium forum. There's more potential bad news there than good. i knowww man it was too depressing for so long but now we're free at last!

Hey there old timer. Good to see you again. Ya I hear the vote passed, I still wont believe we are getting a stadium though till a) the shovels hit the dirt and b) the first pitch is thrown there But at least this step has passed.
March 24, 200917 yr not final till july 1st (i think thats the date). and you know how many times we've been f***ed over. don't start celebrating yet, jus sayin I said this a lot yesterday, but everyone is letting their optimism fool themselves into thinking a massive bond sale will be easy with this economy. Yea, they aren't risky and are fine investments, but still. You never know. July 1st is the date. After that, there is no obstacle.

Yea, well the market seems to be getting back on track, and like you said these bonds aren't exactly risky. I expect no problems at all.

March 25, 200917 yr Through the vice chair, did anyone else notice how miserable and bitter Sorenson sounded saying her NOOOOOOOO during the waiver votes?
March 25, 200917 yr Not to be a killjoy but everything isn't final yet. If the county doesn't sell all the municipal bonds they need to sell before July 1st, the deal could still die but since municipal bonds are popular right now, it shouldn't be too much of a problem at all.
March 25, 200917 yr All i can say, when it is finish, we can start seeing large crowds, with no excues, as a season ticket holder it will great to go there and see big crowds.
