Why Wright sliped
DT Rodrique Wright By: Alain Poupart Associate Editor Date: Apr 30, 2006 Rodrique Wright had heard rumblings about his stock falling heading into the draft, but he never anticipated not being picked until the seventh round. And when the Dolphins finally ended his wait by selecting him 226th overall, he found out what perhaps proved to be the reason for his major fall. Wright said the Dolphins told him after drafting him that he had a shoulder injury that probably was going to require surgery. That came as news to Wright, who said he never felt any pain and recently bench-pressed 425 pounds. "It's very strange," Wright said after being drafted. "Actually, I've been getting stronger. I haven't had any problems." Wright said his best guess would be that he would have suffered the injury during practice for Texas' bowl game during his junior season, but he can't be sure because he played every game in 2005 and never felt any pain beyond what he thought that normal soreness. Wright said some NFL teams had him undergo an MRI in the spring, but not all of them. Not until Sunday did Wright have any inkling that he had any kind of shoulder injury. "I was informed today by Miami," Wright said. "I've been confused as to why I went from the first round to the seventh round." Wright probably would have been a first-round pick had he entered the draft following his junior season, but he decided to return to the Longhorns, who he helped win the national title. But his draft stock fell in the process, even without the injury, because he didn't dominate as much as expected despite the fact he earned consensus All-American honors. Scouts felt Wright had a tendency to slack off, particularly if the play wasn't headed in his direction. He also had a lackluster performance in Texas' Rose Bowl victory over USC. But it's clear there was something else behind the major downfall, something Wright still has a problem accepting. That's why Wright said the first thing he might do upon arriving in Miami is get a second opinion on his right shoulder. "I'm not happy," Wright said. "Obviously, it's disappointing. I know it's an injury issue and not a talent issue. "I don't know exactly what the injury is, it wasn't explained to me. I'm not totally convinced. Maybe there was some kind of error."

Who gets Demoted
Martinez and Nolasco are locks to stay IMO
-
Who gets Demoted
It may be that we see multiple moves. I hope so. Reggie dosent belong and Cepicky could be useful off the Bench. I would keep Reed because he plays gold glove defense and can run. The move could be made to Thur. or Fri.
-
Who gets Demoted
It cant be a position player, because that would give us like 14 pitchers
-
Who gets Demoted
I think it should be ambercrombie yea, and we could put Vargas or Mitre in CF
-
Who gets Demoted
for the same reasons Moe should go to the pen, he's not in the plans for the future and a guy like Resop is.
-
Who gets Demoted
With Olsen coming back who do you think will get send down? IMO it should be Herges but will most likely be Resop.
-
Abercrombie.
We should call up Cepicky(sp) in his place. Hopefully they give Eagle the CF job and use Reed like Aguila was used by Jack.

todays attendance
Good, be prepared for even smaller crowds. Lets start one of thes eafter every game. These threads are so pathetic, stupid and repetitive. The franchise has bigger problems to resolve. Like A) The stadium deal and B) the product on the field. Dammit. Don't you think there's a connection between poor attendance, a stadium, and the product on the field? The plan is to get a stadium, to improve the product on the field, which will increase attendance. There's no point in this thread. Im surprise they got more than 5k

The Pro Re-named again
MIAMI -- By dropping one letter, the Miami Dolphins' and Florida Marlins' home stadium got a new name. The facility will now be known as Dolphin Stadium, not by the Dolphins Stadium moniker it carried for the past year. The move was formally announced Saturday, when a new logo for the 18-year-old facility was also unveiled. "We wanted to capture the spirit of the Dolphins, the fact that they play here, and the fact that this is their home but at the same time separate and make it its own unique brand," said Dolphins Enterprises CEO Joe Bailey. "Therefore that fits into the overall strategy, the branding strategy and the overall strategy of the stadium." The stadium also has been known as Joe Robbie Stadium and Pro Player Stadium since opening in 1987. Had anyone even noticed?

U.S. Rolls Out Nuclear Plan
I'm sure that building more nukes will deter terrorists.... Please. We don't need more nukes. There are countless other things that the money could be spent on. they arent adding to our nuclear stockpile, the nuclear weapons we currently have are becoming old and unsafe to keep in stock, they are making new nuclear bombs to replace the old ageing ones i'm sure they would rather get rid of, thats what the article said as much as i understood it. yea, but it has not being proven yet that those older nukes are no longer effective or safe.

Carlos Martinez Age?
The Marlins 2005 Media Guide lists his DOB as 2-21-86. After 9-11 several baseball players were found to be older or younger than originally thought. wow. he's a young guy. it's funny because the venezuelans are really not known for making themselves to look younger. the dominicans are, though. so this guy was really good very young and acted like he was older to get that signing bonus. that's actually very good for the marlins, imo. he would have commanded much more if he had actually signed as a 16 year old (as opposed to signing as a 14 year old). Im sure he got money of a 16 yr old since they thought he was 16.

North Korea says it can strike first
What are the chances of China siding with the US if war between the US and N.Korea broke out?

He made good on his word..............
Ya, if I was the worst defensive 2B in the modern area I'd refuse to help the team by moving to. What an arrogant jerk. To put it in terms you can understand... Just think if you had to move from being a sloppy drunk on the weekends to the designated driver, without any say in the matter. I'm sure if the sloppy drunk was paid $10 million dollars, he would have no problem at all being a designated driver on the weekends. not if he was getting that being the sloppy drunk already
