May 30, 200422 yr Why do so many of you still want OMGNUNEZ to get all these starts.... Sea Bass is up to .220; 20 more points and he will be at .240 where most if not all would be totally thrilled for him to bet hitting at.....he is hitting about .300 in the last week. Castro's good game was a mirage....some of you were saying he was making a case for more playing time...I said it was a mirage. I was right. Jeff Conine is not done in MLB yet. Not by a long shot. Why is Darren Oliver still on this roster? Matt Perisho is what we were all clamoring for last year in a lefty specialist....many of you ripped him mercifically earlier this year..some still do off and on. And fill in your own random thoughts to be pondered over.
May 30, 200422 yr Yea Castro is a total Bust and if Redmond will be out for extended time I think we need to make a move at the Catcher Position. OMGNUNEZ will from now on be called WTFNUNEZ. Until he actually does something, ANYTHING for this team.
May 30, 200422 yr as much as Id love to..... I cannot but giving Treanor the promotion couldnt hurt either
May 30, 200422 yr Author as much as Id love to..... I cannot but giving Treanor the promotion couldnt hurt either i'm not saying i wouldnt rather have your boy Josh up. but if i had to settle for Matt in order to get rid of Rapermon....I go for it.

May 30, 200422 yr Gonzo is really turning it around. I'd definitely be one of the fans who'd be more than happy with a .240 average, that's not so bad...1 out of 4 is decent! As of Castro, we need to do something with this guy, how long until measures are taken? this is pathetic!!! Our bullpen has looked solid for the past few games. This past winning streak proves the Marlin formula: pitching....we pitch, we win. I'm a Nunez supporter, but it seems that those who said that we should've traded him earlier while his stock was up seem to be correct...oh well.
May 30, 200422 yr Ramon needs to go back to high school to learn how to block a pitch in the dirt. You're kidding, right?
May 30, 200422 yr Ramon needs to go back to high school to learn how to block a pitch in the dirt. Castro would be too distracted by the high school girls

May 30, 200422 yr People are distracted by a bad slump or two or three. Perisho's just one man in the bullpen everyone was trashing earlier this year. Oliver can't be traded until June and is unlikely to be released without gettign anythign of service out of the remainder of his contract.
May 30, 200422 yr Ramon needs to go back to high school to learn how to block a pitch in the dirt. i think catching Dontrelle/Beckett/Penny is a bit different than catching some pimple-faced 17 year old.

May 30, 200422 yr Are there any teams out there that would claim Castro off waivers? Looking through the injury reports only Texas and Toronto have catchers expected to be out for a logn time. I don't think the Blue Jays would bite, and Texas has 40-man roster issues.

I don't think the Blue Jays would bite, and Texas has 40-man roster issues. I think that maybe Oakland would, same with Chicago. Both of those teams are going with semi-serviceable catchers and would take a chance with Ramon. I'm the one guy who boos Castro the loudest at games, but I think it's dumb to put him on waivers...too big of a risk. He sucks, there's no denying it, but he's got trade value to someone, especially when we go out to get a catcher at the deadline, because it's become an issue of when, not if...
May 30, 200422 yr Man now im regreting this, but i wish we would of traded Castro for Rondell White. They were very close to making the trade but then it died, and we got Conine. ugh, Castro needs to step up, Red cannot start everygame, what about if Red gets injured....we need to depend on Castro. I rather we go after another catcher.
May 30, 200422 yr My gut says Treanor will be called before Willingham gets a shot. Mckeon was raving about him during Spring Training and said he wouldnt doubt if he would get called up during the season. Anything is an improvement over Castro, I mean can Treanor do much worse than him.
May 30, 200422 yr Man now im regreting this, but i wish we would of traded Castro for Rondell White. then Cabs wouldnt have been called up last year :thumbdown
