Michigan at the top is laughable. I'd put Oklahoma, USC, and Notre Dame over Michigan.

let's see:

  • 1st in winning percentage
  • 1st in total wins
  • 10th in AP- UPI national championships
  • 2nd in total national championships
  • 2nd in conference championships
  • 9th in bowl appearances (only because of stupid big 10 rule they had for awhile that said you couldn't go to back to back bowl games)
  • most consecutive bowl appearances
  • most consecutive televised games
  • #1 rivalry in college football (if not all of sports)

Michigan would have killed Nebraska if they had played

This list is a joke....Temple isnt ranked.

If you include Michigan's archaic titles from 1901, 1902, 1923, 1933, 1947, and 1948, then you should have Yale or Princeton as #1. Princeton has 24 and Yale has 19.

Why? Because of their history? Sure I guess.. but that's what's funny about the fans of teams like Nebraska and Notre Dame.. still living in the past.

i didn't include those, the only titles i included we AP/ UPI/ BCS

what i really love is the vague criteria that is always given.

and no 'system' of determing what equals what.

If the acronym starts with U and end in M it is great.

at least Nebraska has been good recently, they've only fallen on hard times the last few years

Anyone else sick of Mays constant polls, rankings, and ratings that he has contrived himself?
