Our team ERA after today's game is 1.34, we lead all of baseball and the next closest is the Brewers at 3.07.

We lead the lead in complete games with 4, all 29 other teams have COMBINED to throw only 2 complete games total.

We have given up only 15 runs total, the least in baseball with the next closest team giving up 23 (Brewers).

I hope they keep it up although I am not for pitchers pitching complete games in this cold weather up north. I know, I know, it's pitch counts that count but it will be interesting to see how McKeon handles them in the cold weather. It's not 85 degrees here!

in wins we outscore opponents 38-2 I think

thats correct...in losses we are....

in all 4 losses we've been outscored by 7 runs 13-6

It really gets to be contagious. Each starter wants to keep up the streak of great starts.

But remember last year's team had a great start by the rotation too. 4 shutouts in the first 9 games I think.

This is still a very good early sign. I still think the playoffs hinge more on the ability of the offense to produce consistently though. Remember the L.A. Dodgers a few years ago? Miniscule team ERA, but kept getting beat 2-1, 1-0. The last two wins are exactly what I want to see. Good fundamental offensive baseball backing up the starters.

The only negative to this thread is that we should have a better record with that type of era. That era isnt going to stay that low, It will probably be close to 4.00 but when its this low we need to capitolize and win games. A .557 winning percentage with that era isnt cutting it. Alas, it is early lets just hope our offense will be consistent.

the way i look at it, if the marlins had won the extra inning game with the braves we finish the home stand 6-3. It is early and the pitching staff is looking good.

And you didn't mention that the Marlins have played the most games of any team (tied), and the Brewers have played 2 less games...So that runs given up total is even more impressive.
