Dontrelle 7-0

Why are people surprised at small crowds? This is Miami. People will start showing up in September.

If the Fish are in the hunt. Or playing the Yanks or Cubs.

What about the Mets...

It was a very fast game also...only 2 hours and 19 minutes...and only 21,000 fans got to enjoy it.

Dontrelle and Oswalt were both pitching great and at a fast pace.

Only?! thats a very nice crowd for a wednesday evening compared to 11,000 last night.

11,000? It was really 11K on tues?

Yeah, 11,687 to be exact.

I guess everyone was mad that we lost at home to the team with the worst road record.

It was probably because of the Miami Heat.. Alot of people were at the game or watching it at home

After tonights game, here are some cool facts:

-We have the 4th most wins in the leauge at home this season.

-Only the Orioles have less losses than us on the road.

-We've allowed the least amount of runs in the leauge by 24.

It probably had a lot to do with Miami having crappy fans and the Heat playoff game.

thats all it had to do with

Does anyone know if Dontrelle's 'sinker' is a 4th pitch or just a 2-seam fastball? (not a mvp2005 question)

We're 3-2 on Wednesdays now too.

yet i dont think that 10000 of them missed the game cause of the heat, lol

actually, the Marlins and Heat have an agreement signed to allow for fans to have tickets for both teams and the Panthers and allows them to shift games around to watch another team's game.

I was at the game last night. Really enjoyed it. Was really fast. Dontrelle pitched lights out. Good job by Jones to shut the door.

Yeah I know-I was very surprised when I found out how many fans there were at the game...I was expecting atleast 30,000 and it looked like atleast 30,000...

I guess people just don't understand the importance of this game...It was a big game with Dontrelle being 6-0 and trying to improve to 7-0...the game was even so big that it was on ESPN2

It's a W-day night in May against a team that was 2-16 on the road. 21,000 is terrific!

that is very good for a team like the rockies, but i dont think that poeple go out to games cause of a teams recourd, they go because of the teams popularity

From what I've seen of it, it's a two seamer (unless it's just a sinker he decided to tinker with and hasn't gotten much movement on yet). However, since it doesn't come much slower than his fastball, it leads me to think it's a two seamer.

Dude, didn't you learn anything from reading this thread?

You don't talk about the Chicago White Sox in the Florida Marlins forum unless the thread has to do with the White Sox in some form. And if you read the thread title you'll see Dontrelle Willis' record which has nothing to do with the White Sox.

So I have no clue why you're bringing up the last time the White Sox won the World Series...

It seems like the team plays with a different type of tempo when Willis is on the mound he seems to be a great leader on the field almost making each player performing at a higher level. I really love watching the Marlins when he takes the mound you know you are in for a great game.

Keep it up Dontrelle aka "2005 NL Cy Young Award winner"
