I just noticed that too. So we play the Cubs 9 times this season but 6 times on the road??

I'll be at one of them. Wish me luck. I'll probably be the only fish fan there.

Delgado at Wrigley Field :mischief2

I noticed this when the schedule was released. I guess MLB enjoyed us playing extra games there so much last season that they figured why not again.

I think it's because the Cubs are America's team.

Yeah now that the Red Sox won it all. Oh well, just another opponent that we are going to have to run over. :whistle

Intraleague schedules have not been balanced since 1969. Take a closer look at the schedule and you'll notice that all teams have these little quirks in their schedule.

They want Bartman 2.

I didn't know about this until now. The Cubs appear to be the only NL East team that the Marlins play against for more than two times.

Since when were the Cubs in the East?

A while back it was said that it was done to balance the schedule. Oh well...

Well if you are going to the June 13th game, you won't be alone. I live on the west side of Michigan and I will be making the trip down to Wrigley to watch the Marlins beat up on the Cubs.

The Cubs blow, I'd rather play 6 at Wrigley than have to go to St. Louis or San Diego instead.

I'd rather play 6 at Coors or Houston

This honor is usually bestowed on the Brew Crew. Guess 5 years of 9 games against Milwaukee was enough for MLB. Better than Pittsburgh.

MLB always has to find a way to screw us somehow.

Actually, I will be at the 8/26 game.

Hubby is a cub fan so at least I will have a little protection.

But it would have been fun to meet an out-of-state fish fan.

:D

I think it's because there's a percieved "rivalry" between us and you can't evenly split 3 series

Cubs were in the East the first year the Marlins played in 1993 I believe.

You're joking right?

Two words:

Wild Card

Guys relax, we will crush them, consider it batting practice, sharpen up our guns!!

I don't know but I sure am glad they are going in August, cause I will be going to the series vs the MArlins at Miller park in August and having them at Wrigley right after gives me a chance to go see Wrigley for the first time and see the Marlins. Can;t wait for that weekend to come already....2 games in Miller park then 2 games in Wrigley. :)

Who cares??

The Cubs are bad anyways.

That's right. You'll see, next year we'll play 9 against the Cubs, with 6 at home.
