NOW is the time

Featured Replies

As of today, the next 21 games are ALL against teams under .500. Every single game.

Now is the time.

For all the grief involved with this week's games, we did split a series in St. Louis which isn't exactly the easiest thing in the world. Now let's take the fight to the dregs of the NL!

we really do need to go about 16-5 but i'd like 18-3.

fact is schedule is tough after this and we need a run now, because its gonna be much harder down the final stretch.

Let me guess, we must win all 21 or the season is over? :mischief

16-5 or somewhere about there would delightful...usually this time of year the marlins get like a 7-8 winning streak going and this is the time, no excuses...lets make the rest of the national league drown in fear, for this is the time of the marlins

The doubleheader in Colorado are the two most important of the upcoming games because everyone else of any importance in the wildcard has the day off.

Assuming the Cincy series goes well, sweeping in Colorado puts us back in the thick of things as we get back to parity (in games played) with the other teams in the hunt.

How about just wining each series?

Simmer down, let's focus on each series and go for series wins.

as skipper jack says....series are more important that winning 12 in a row....now who the hell am I kidding....GO GET'EM FISH!!!

Sorry to be bursting everybody's bubble but:

- All but TWO non-NL East teams are at or below .500. And with most games in August taking place out of division, that means the Braves, Nationals, Mets, and Phillies will also be playing a lot of sub-.500 teams.

- We get to face these teams in our division throughout September while the Astros get to beat up on the dreds of their division. In fact, their schedule this month doesn't look that hard either.

The Marlins need to keep winning and they should be able to do so against the teams they're facing. But so should the people whom they need to lose. Anyway, Cinci and Colorado are a start and it would be really nice to take four of these five.

I'll be quite happy going 3-2 over the next 5 away games. These are still away games, and we don't have AJ going in any of them, and Beckett's start in Colorado is kind of a wasted start for him, as his off speed stull will not be as effective a mile high. Our 5 starters are Vargas, Willis, Moeller, Beckett, and Valdez. Plus we're still a little dinged up. I'm concerned about the Colorado DH. On paper it looks like juicy pickings for us, but it's a trap situation.

The time to really make our move is the 13 game homestand coming up against the weak NL West. 10-3 or better is very possible, and needed. Hopefully we'll be back to full health, and our pitching sets up nice, with 5 out of the 13 games started by AJ or Beckett.

we need better than 3-2 in these games, we need to go 4-1 to stay with the pack, overall it will be nice to win 7 of the next 10 huh, then we wont be farther than .5- 1.5 games away from the WC
