August 27, 200323 yr That is all. Losing to the Pirates, especially after trading away Brian Giles which came after gutting just about every decent player from that team is riduclious. If we lose any of the rest of the games of this series...... We are not going to the playoffs.

August 27, 200323 yr Well, it must be a full moon tonite, because I'm going to be the voice of positive reinforcement with my take on this whole stretch.... While it's amusing and invigorating to scoreboard watch, check the papers in the morning and update the WC standings on espn.com every two minutes, it really amounts to peeing in the ocean. Remember, the rest of the schedule is filled with teams we went 29-21 with so far, while everyone else is .500 at best against their remaining foes. Being one or two games out right now is no more scary than being up one or two games is reassuring. Y'all need to save your energy, start thinking of witty post topics to post during the last two weeks of the season, because that's when we'll see where the bear shits in the buckwheat, so to speak. Bring on those panty-wearing sissies from the NL East!!!!!!!!
