February 9, 200620 yr I guess it won't be out for a bit... More importantly, Simon Rex (Farmboy George from Scary Movie 3) is up for the lead role? I don't know much about Iron Man, but that would be a crazy transition...

February 9, 200620 yr Marvel is whoring out all the b-level comic licenses they have to movie studios. In the end, I think it hurts more than anything because for every good comic movie I think you'll end up with a lot more bad ones. There is NO reason for Marvel to have any movies made on their characters outside of their major stars (let's say Spider-Man, X-Men/Wolverine, Fantastic Four, Captain America, maybe Hulk). There is no reason for there to be a Power pack movie (and yet the license is out there). Iron Man is one of the few, I think, that has potential. As long as they get a good writer and the suit somewhat resembles the one in the comic.
February 9, 200620 yr I guess there is a comic book market for everyone. I enjoyed the punisher (2004 version) while others thought it could have been a lot better. It should be interseting to see who plays Tony Stark a/k/a Iron Man.
February 9, 200620 yr Blade...Spiderman...X-Men...Fantasitc Four...Daredevil...Incredible Hulk...The Punisher...Elektra...and now Iron Man? Captain America would look riduclous on screen in a live action movie IMO.

February 9, 200620 yr Iron Man's got a hell of a lot of potential, at least in my mind. Easy back-story (billionaire injured by schrapnel, must wear armor-like pacemaker, fights crime), hollywood type powers and very little critical supporting cast so the action can get going fast. His rogue gallery is unimpressive, but the Marvel universe is filled with bad-guys that I'm sure could be used on "loan." I'm just holding out hope that an Avengers movie gets made, but for that to happen, I'm assuming Iron Man, Thor and Captain America have to have their own movies first.
February 9, 200620 yr I must admit, I've never been a big Marvel fan. Elektra was crap. Daredevil was crap. Hulk was [for the most part] crap. What's next? Iceman? Plasticman? I'd love to see something completely different like Gen13...

I'd love to see something completely different like Gen13... I really think the next 'big thing' will be live action anime... There are so many incredible Japanese shows that are virtually untouched by Hollywood.
February 9, 200620 yr I'd love to see something completely different like Gen13... I don't think you'll ever see that. All the Image creators basically sued each other so that all franchises (save for Spawn since McFarlane copyrighted that himself, and not with/through Image) are basically tied up. Savage Dragon would make for a good movie, too. Oh well.
February 9, 200620 yr Author Dragon Ball Z was supposed to be turned into a Live Action film, but Fox ran into some snags... That would be badass.
February 9, 200620 yr Blade...Spiderman...X-Men...Fantasitc Four...Daredevil...Incredible Hulk...The Punisher...Elektra...and now Iron Man? Captain America would look riduclous on screen in a live action movie IMO. You never did see the Captain America movie of the 1980's did you? :mischief
February 9, 200620 yr Captain America would look riduclous on screen in a live action movie IMO. Actually, the Ultimate Captain America outfit is a blend of superhero costume and WWII army fatigues. It's feasible and could be made to look damn cool. Except the blue is toned down a LOT and I believe the jacket looks more like chain mail.
February 9, 200620 yr Captain AMerica movie from 1989 totally sucked.... The Red Skull looked horrible... I'd like to see a cool Captain AMerica movie make up for that turkey Also, there is a possible Ghost Rider movie coming with Nicolas Cage

I've already seen a preview for it. Looks pretty cheesy though.
February 10, 200620 yr What's next : Power Man & Iron Fist??? Or ROM The Space Knight? How about Space Ghost or the Herculoids?
February 11, 200620 yr Nick Cage as ghost rider...... that sh*t as potential i think it comes out next year i been waiting since 05....... as 4 IRON MAN hahahhaa why bother
February 13, 200620 yr Dragon Ball Z was supposed to be turned into a Live Action film, but Fox ran into some snags... That would be badass. I would sooo pay to see record of the loddus war made into a big screen tv. It has a story that grabs you just like Lord of the Rings. I think it would be a huge sucess. Just like Dragonlance would be too.
February 13, 200620 yr There was even a Prince Namor the Sub-Mariner movie in the works for a while, & Chris Columbus was directing, although he's since bailed on it. Supposedly David Self (Road to Perdition) was writing the script. If anyone's interested, there's a BLADE animated series coming out in June on Spike TV. and Transformers may start shooting in Spring. Man I wonder if they can pull THAT one off! :o
February 13, 200620 yr Speaking of Hasbro Toys such as the Transformers...They are also in the works for a GI Joe live action movie based on the eighties TV version. Yo Joe!!
February 18, 200620 yr A Grendel movie would be pimp as hell. If the Punisher movie was in the mode of the recent MAX comics it would be really good, every single one of those could be made into a really good R movie. No f***ing desire to see Iron Man.
July 23, 200620 yr Some new details: Film will be released on 5/2/08. The villian is Mandarin. Poster:
August 1, 200620 yr Ahoy, squirts! Quint here with a nice, juicy casting rumor for you folks. A few days ago there was word that reached my ears about the role of Tony Stark in Jon Favreau's IRON MAN being offered to a very interesting actor. The word was that IRON MAN was being offered to HUSTLE & FLOW's Terrence Howard. That rumor was bizarre, yet somehow fitting. In the recent interview I did with Jon Favreau at Comic-Con, he told me that he was looking for a great actor that hadn't hit it huge yet, a name that wouldn't overshadow the title of the film. Howard fit that bill. So, I checked in with sources deep within Paramount and Marvel to see if I could confirm this weird rumor. Besides having the perfect mustache for the role, I think a lot of fans wouldn't have been able to get around the racial difference, much like they didn't get behind Michael Clarke Duncan as Kingpin in DAREDEVIL. I finally got one of my sources to tell me that Terrence Howard was indeed offered a role in IRON MAN, but not that of Tony Stark. Going over my interview again, Favreau listed off a number of IRON MAN regulars who would appear in the film. The obvious conclusion I reached was that Terrence Howard was offered the role of James Rhodes, good friend to Tony Stark and future bearer of the armor and IRON MAN identity. He became known as War Machine after Stark reclaimed the name and suit. So, that's the word. Terrence Howard has been offered the role of James Rhodes in the IRON MAN film. No guarantee he'll take it, but I think Howard is one of the most interesting actors working in the business today and his presence in the film will only make it better. Especially if we get to see Howard don a super suit in this film (or sequels) and kick some ass. What do you folks think? Source Awesome, I hope he accepts.
