the padres are averaging 8 runs / game against us. the same team whos HR leader had 19 HR's

not really sure what that has to do with anything

I mean, they did win the NL West

Is going to be a loooooooooooooooooooooong year

good, I hate it when the baseball season goes by too quickly :mischief

Abercrombie and Reed- Need to learn how to hit. They just don't belong

Hanley looked good again today. Even the last out was hard hit.

Aguila should start in CF. Lets see how that goes.

Just a boring depressing game.

You know that glimmer of hope and optimism we all had before the season?

The first three series of the year undoubtedly diluted our expectations.

nailed it right on the head. thats what needs to be addressed and fast.

tomorrow i would like to see Aguila start CF and maybe Helms in LF with Willingham behind the plate again. We need to produce more runs with more plate discpline and at least these guys can give us that. Aguila can move all over and now its his time to be given a chance. Aber just played bad the whole game and Reed did nice with the Glove but i cant say the same for his hitting.

moehler was bad yet again, allowing 6 runs a game wont help us out at all, give Nolasco or Johnson a chance because they know how to pitch. We needed Hermi today but hes hurt so maybe tomorrow he can play. cabs got a homer again, good to see that one of the few bright spots of the game. bullpen did well holding down the rest of the game. yet again, moehler does better we have a chance in this game. tisk tisk

Seems like all the preseason hype we all had were just dreams. I really expected this team to come out the gates strong to prove people wrong but they just look like a bunch of deer in headlights. I really feel bad for this team and the situation they were put into. Yes they are getting a chance at the big league level but they are looking foolish in the process. It's like a different team is playing the regular season from spring training. Cabs just looks plain old bored. I am wondering how long it takes into the season before he starts clamoring for a trade.

Kool Aid either needs some time in the minors or the Fred McGriff hitting VHS tape. Hanley continues to impress and seems like the only person giving in 110%. Cabs needs to pick his chin up and become a leader or things are only going to get worse. We need to solve our outfield problems and I really wish we pulled a trade in the offseason for Gathright or someone of higher quality then Reed.

Just seems like everyone is playing on eggshells right now.

That is my end of the game rant. Have a good day people. Sox/Jays on ESPN2 @ 7 tonight and Cavs/Pistons on ESPN1 @ 8.

Time to acquire a young outfielder who fits into our long-term plans. (No, not Gathright)

Ya, Gathright is putrid.

agreed, gimme Dukes ftw

Let's close up our gaping holes.

-Start Aguila in center field

-Start Willingham at catcher again, or if not at least give Matt Treanor a start. Olivo has looked awful at the plate.

-Send Abercrombie down & bring up anyone else for an extra OF.

I'm not really that depressed. There are bound to be stretches of games like this. Let's see if they improve over the course of the season.

I'm very concerned about Vargas tomorrow. His recent starts haven't been very good.

Yes, I agree. Aguila needs to play some more. He does pretty well when given consistent at-bats. Certainly better than Abercrombie and Reed. I'd like to give these guys 20-25 more games before we try to find a center fielder outside the organization.

Second, I'd like to see Ricky Nolasco (or Nabisco as Holly calls him) take over Brian Moehler's spot in the rotation. If Brian is going to keep losing (which he probably will), we might as well just lose with someone that will be learning how to pitch in the big leagues and has some potential for the future.

I consider the franchise's long-term goals to win a World Series. A defensive liability in CF or a sub-.400 slugging guy at a corner position does not help toward that goal.

Sucked.. Lets just snap the losing streak tomorrow... Win the series against the Nats and Im happy... If we dont do that we are screwed considering that we leave for 10 on the road

Aguila in CF, Willy at C, and Helms in LF until a young hitter that can play CF or LF is acquired. This offense has to get jumpstarted somehow, and that's probably the best way to do it with how the roster is currently constructed.
