You're probably right but from my perspective it really all depends on how well the Fish and Uggla specifically perform between now and Hermida coming off the DL. If Uggla continues to produce it's not out of the realm of possibility that Hermida bats sixth giving the Marlins a lineup like this: Ramirez Uggla Cabrera Willingham Jacobs Hermida Olivo CF (if Abercrombie, bats seventh) Pitcher At least in the short term it gives Hermida some breathing room to re-adjust to major league pitching after a couple of weeks off without the pressure of batting second, gives Jacobs someone protection in the lineup and allows Uggla to build on what he's contributing hitting second with Miggy hitting behind him. I think Hermida will hit well wherever he is in the lineup while Uggla may not be as productive hitting lower in the lineup and having the benefit of Cabrera in the on deck circle. Seems to me to be a win-win for the Fish.

April 22, 200620 yr I like Hermida in the 2 slot. I'm not saying he won't wind up in the two hole, Girardi already said when he went on the DL that's where he'd bat when he came back, but I was simply observing that Uggla has been pretty productive hitting there.
April 22, 200620 yr i like both of them but i think uggla has deserved to stay in that 2 spot.. hermida's just coming off the DL and maybe when he gets hot we should move him back up the order. hermy was only hitting like .267 before he got injured...
April 22, 200620 yr I rather have Jeremy bat 2nd because he has more paitence than Uggla. This gives Miggy and Hammer a chance to drive him in. Maybe I would put Uggla 5th or 6th.
April 22, 200620 yr It's going to be hard to move Uggla from the #2 spot when all he's done there is hit .321/.387/.643 with 3 HR, 7 RBI, 3 BB, 3 K, and his lone stolen base in 28 at bats. By comparison, hitting 6th he put up numbers of .240/.321/.320 with 2 2B, 0 HR, just 1 RBI, 2 BB and 2 K. The only problem is that it could set up a scenario where we have back to back lefties in the lineup by batting Hermida either 5th or 6th.

But for now, he has been very productive from that spot so you leave him.
