2 K's in his debut.

How do you guys think he looked? I couldn't see him on TV.

I mean, he got 2 strike outs in one innning and only gave up one hit. He had to look good.

He pitched the 9th gave up a hit struckout 2...Showed great stuff...Welcome to the Majors Petit

Looked good, pitch at a great pace... painted to black many times.. A look at the future boys!

Actually he seemed remarkably poised for a 21 year old kid.

Who knows what the future will bring for him and I could be projecting (in the pschological sense) all the stuff I want to see in him, but he came in, threw strikes, seemed to "know" what he wanted to do and how to set up the hitters.

He struck out two and the base hit he gave up might have gone for an out had Hanley (taller) had been at SS instead of Amezega. Just a soft liner that was just a bit out of his reach.

All in all he looked very polished and if you didn't know better you'd think he'd been pitching in the bigs all season. Of course it was one appearance in a blowout and he still needs to be challenged in a tight game and/or under pressure, but for a first appearance you have to come away with good feelings about the kid.

Looked really good. They kept commenting about how he has deceiving stuff and I also thought he did. Keeps the ball down very well.

He looked terrific. I can see why batters have had trouble picking up the ball. It seems like it comes out low, but he doesn't throw sidearm.

He threw a couple of great strikes low in the zone. Really looking forward to seeing more of him.

This guy is the next Livan Hernandez.

The way he knows how to pitch and can win games and strike people out without dominating stuff. Plus he just looks like Livan on the mound (hefty dude)

DTrain, JJ, Olsen, Petit, Nolasco *dies*

I agree, Petit looks like he will EAT up innings in the future

When he pitches 150 pitches a game I will call him that

Wow good thing MLB.TV lets you re watch games. Mine messed up in the 8th and I totaly forgot about Yusmeiro so I didnt try to fix it. I just watched the 9th and he looks good. He keeps everything down right at the knees. He's got a good breaking pitch that he drops right to the dirt. I can see him k'in alot of guys with it. I agree he does remind me of Livan a little, not to dominating stuff but he looks like he's gonna get alot of k's.

I listened to the game on the radio. I never knew 560 WQAM was up in Orlando. To me he sounded good :thumbup . A lot of strikes. It must be nice for him to K the first two batters he saw. Hopefully that will give him some extra confidence. (Not saying he has none)

I agree. I would also love to see how Annibal performs up here, too.

You were able to pickup WQAM today? That doesn't appen too often I have been able to do it only a couple of times myself

Sanchez is in the middle of a rough patch at the moment, and it'd be best to bring him up when he is at his best. I'd expect him to stay at Carolina for a while yet.

I'd imagine that we have enough top pitching prospects already seeing innings and we really don't need to rush Anibal. He obviously needs some more time to hone his skills.

I watched the 9th on MLB.tv tonight. Kid looked good! Looking forward to seeing how he shapes up.
