Wild Card
it sound good jaunky but willis never does good in the first ining and that would probly happen if he just went in for 1 ining. Exactly. That's why if anyone goes to the pen, it's Carl. He throws lots of strikes early. BUT, can you really put Pavano in the pen after all that he's done for us as a starter? I don't think so. But, I was just pointing out that we do have options.

Next year Pavz will go to the Pen no matter what with AJ.... In the post season we would have to go with a 4 man rotation ( I think). Its either Redman or Pavz. Pavz would be my choice. He was once a relief pitcher and it wont hurt him to be there. Redman for sure cant go to the Pen. It is just not right.
Wild Card
Next year Pavz will go to the Pen no matter what with AJ.... Don't be too sure. A.J. will come in DURING the season, and whoever is struggling will probably be sent to the pen. But here's a crazy thought. Why not have a 6-man roation next year? It would give the starters more resting time. All of them are reliable pitchers, and if it doesn't work, you can always change it back. All of them are reliable pitchers, and if it doesn't work, you can always change it back. A six man rotation doesn't work because: A) starting pitchers need to pitch more often to stay sharp, anyone who knows anything about baseball knows an SP has to work more than once a week. B) With only so many roster slots (25) available, and eleven for pitchers, you are arbitrarily limiting the relief staff to four or five or taking away a bench player. If you have even one closer, one setup guy, one lefty specialist, that leaves just two slots on an 11 man staff. It's simply not enough. :thumbdown
