July 4, 200620 yr Author I think the government has something to do with this. Theres no way they would let a washington DC team to lose at home on the 4th of July. :plain LOL sounds like something that they would do in Cuba
July 4, 200620 yr Who should we blame on this lose? No sense in really placing blame. There were plays throughout this game that could have decided the outcome. Today we really showed the younger side of our team with the foolish plays in the field. It was a team loss. No blame here.
July 4, 200620 yr not only is borowskis era ruined he made a stupid pitch becase he got away witht he same one before. but u know what this is really starting to make me beleive that the marlins are not only primed for a lsoing streak but were just in way over their heads even though i know that they are a very good young team and can compete but this is more like a curse
July 4, 200620 yr Who should we blame on this lose? Yes, lets all place blame on a single player and dwell on it for the next week! Hurrah!
July 4, 200620 yr Now I know how the Orioles fans must have felt after that June 22nd game. Or how us Royals fans felt after last night.

Meh, you guys should be ecstatic with anything above contraction. True but when you beat up on someone like Johan Santana just to have it all blown by your horrid closer, it sucks.
July 4, 200620 yr Now I know how the Orioles fans must have felt after that June 22nd game. Where were you during April/mid May? :mischief2

I lived on 110th Ave for 9 years.
July 4, 200620 yr does anyone think uggla had a shot at that blooper? i don't think it was his ball--i'm just glad he didn't get injured.--my dad mentinoed castillo would of had that ball in his back pocket...
July 4, 200620 yr We are starting to look like the April marlins, does anyone agree or disagree? I blame Abecrombie. Just compare the records with him in the lineup and not.

Probably down towards the same area.
July 5, 200620 yr for a month we caught all the breaks , law of averages suggest we were due for a losing streak especially given the age of our players. ultimately joe borowski didnt get the job done but what can you say really he has done a solid job all year and even the best closers blow games ....all of that said i will view this year as positive if we win 68-72 games even with the extended winning streak i havent forgotten we are a team of rookies with a few journeyman relievers , that is why i enjoyed the marlins month of great play because i doubt we will get anything like that the rest of the year ....we are building for 07, 08, 09 etc
July 5, 200620 yr This is what a really young team is like, streaky. We'll get stretches of bad and stretches of good. When we're bad, we'll probably be awful and annoying like the last few games. Also remember before people start hanging Joe Borowski dolls, not only has he been excellent for most of this year, he also got us out of a bases loaded one out situation in the 8th. Big positive today : Olsen is going to be very good indeed. amen. And like people already said, he made two good pitches to batters before Zimmerman & they got little bloop popup hits that could've been caught.
July 5, 200620 yr I'm beginning to have the sinking feeling that the win on Friday night over the Red Sox was the high point of the season, and now becomes inevitable dog days of summer in which teams with younger inexperienced players or just bad players begin to wilt throughout baseball history, which I've mentioned before. The painful experiences of my youth with the 1980 Mets (from 56-57 crashing to 67-95) and 1982 Mets (from 38-39 finishing at 65-97) come to memory. At least the Marlins will do well better than my original projection of 50-112 and my revised projection of 60-102 (keeping with the 10-game increments, 70-92 would be nice: 35-47 the rest of the way). But as hard as it is to go through, once again this season is not about wins, but about learning and building for 2007-08.
