August 11, 200620 yr Here is a list from baseballprospectus.com of the top CF prospects in the game. We could really use one of these guys. http://www.baseballprospectus.com/article.php?articleid=5411
August 11, 200620 yr No we need a major league ready CF.....like Carlos Quentin or Curtis Granderson. We are ready to make a push for the playoffs next year.
August 11, 200620 yr I didnt think Quentin could play CF I think he's athletic enough to play all 3 OFs spots....I defiently like this guy more than Chris Young. Quentin hit .345, .303, and .396 in college. In the minors he hit .310, .357, .301, and .289 So far for the D-Backs, he's at .326. Plus arm, decent glove, can run and steal, takes a lot of walks and doesn't K often.....some good awards too..... 2001 Freshman First Team All-America OF Pacific-10 Newcomer of the Year Pacific-10 Conference All-Star OF 2002 Summer League First-Team All-American OF Pacific-10 Conference All-Star OF 2003 Pacific-10 Conference All-Star OF Second Team College All-American OF College World Series All-Tournament Team OF 2004 Baseball America First Team Minor League All-Star OF Arizona Diamondbacks Minor League Player of the Year I think he's the next Carlos Beltran.....the D-Backs will be smart to keep him.
August 13, 200620 yr I like Elsbury and Crowe and i think both can be obtained in the right trade...Offer Pinto and another prospect like Ungs
August 13, 200620 yr We need Chris Young. He's probably expendable, since they have put so much money into Justin Upton. Quentin isn't going to play center. He's likely the future RF or LF for the D-Backs. They would also be crazy to trade him.
August 13, 200620 yr You will see Young fighting for the CF job in ST and I agree that Quentin is going nowhere so I believe We can forget about those 2 altogether
August 15, 200620 yr It is reported that the Indians are going to start converting Crowe to 2nd base due to their surplus at CF and lack of quality middle infielders in their farm system...That would be a shame, He is a huge cF prospect. wanna trade Andino and Pinto for Crowe and a fringe prospect?
August 15, 200620 yr need a CF with the speed to track down balls in those gaps... we were spoiled with Pierre just a good OBP guy with speed is what I want, a leadoff guy
August 15, 200620 yr I like Elsbury and Crowe and i think both can be obtained in the right trade...Offer Pinto and another prospect like Ungs :lol Why would the Red Sox trade one of their top 2-3 prospects, a position player, for a reliever and a 27 year old average AAA starter?
August 15, 200620 yr I think a good question is what are you willing to give up to get one of these guys? Is there anyone who is untouchable or shouldn't be traded?
August 15, 200620 yr I think a good question is what are you willing to give up to get one of these guys? Is there anyone who is untouchable or shouldn't be traded? cabrera, olsen, johnson, sanchez, willis are our only untradables.
August 15, 200620 yr Is Granderson untouchable? pretty much, he is young cheap and a stud. They have pitching, they have a young talent for the future. They have no reason to move him honestly.

So he is out of the question. Or maybe we can give them Reggie and we can get Granderson. I say its fair .

Granderson should be tradable in like 2-3 years when uber-spect Cameron Maybin is ready. The kid is already tearing it up in A-ball. There are many comparisons to Griffey with the glove, power, speed mix. Granted, it'd still take A LOT to get Granderson. Probably a Volstad + mid-level prospect.

Everyone on the Marlins team is tradeable believe me....the problem is that they cannot afford to get rid of DTrain or Miguel for publicity reasons.......
