January 9, 200719 yr With the HOF 2007 voting results becoming official tomorrow, I figured that now was a good time to see how well the players would do on this message board. How to vote: -Each person can vote for as many players as they want to. -Players who appear on 75% of the ballots would gain election. Mine are: -Blyleven -Dawson -Gossage -Gwynn -Ripken Jr. -Trammell
January 9, 200719 yr I checked them all except albert belle........... man i hated that guy when he was on the O's.
January 9, 200719 yr I checked them all except albert belle........... man i hated that guy when he was on the O's. haha well I guess this is useless data now! Only 2 deserve the hall.... Ripken and Gwynn....I thought Dawson was the closest but not good enough because he didn't hit over .300 alot.
January 9, 200719 yr Author Note: To get the player's HOF percentage, divide the player's votes by the total number of voters.
January 9, 200719 yr Who didn't vote for Ripken? I didn't. That guy is a scrub... My Ballot: Goose Gwynn Mattingly McGwire Ripken and of course - I had to throw a vote to my man Pauly just on principal.
January 9, 200719 yr Just wondering, why would you vote for Canseco and not Mcgwire? Because McGwire took performance enhancing substances. Duh! :mischief

January 9, 200719 yr I voted for Ripken, Gwynn, and Big Mac. Gwynn and Ripken are the best of the best of that list, and what Big mac did in '98 made baseball larger than life after the strike.
January 9, 200719 yr i vote gwynn, rip, mac and tommy john i mean come on his surgery has saved so many pitchers careers how could you not vote for him!
January 9, 200719 yr The math on the poll is a little screwy. I'm pretty sure that 32/33 > 13.22% But I could be wrong.
January 9, 200719 yr The math on the poll is a little screwy. I'm pretty sure that 32/33 > 13.22% But I could be wrong. Yah because the poll is using the dividened as total votes in the poll, not each ballot. Each ballot can have many votes on it.

Yah because the poll is using the dividened as total votes in the poll, not each ballot. Each ballot can have many votes on it. Yeah I noticed. Too bad we can't figure out a way to correct that. Guess the point is moot now anyway. And Goose is left standing at the altar again.
January 9, 200719 yr I checked them all except albert belle........... man i hated that guy when he was on the O's. why even vote if you are going to do stupid crap like that?
January 9, 200719 yr Canseco, Dawson, McGwire, Gwynn, Smith, Rice. I did not vote for Ripken, because as I've stated many times I find him ridiculously overrated. I voted for Canseco because of all he has done re:steroids; no one has done more for baseball over the last 20 years, commissioners included.
January 9, 200719 yr How many players are the writers allowed to vote for? I thought it was ten, but I could be wrong.
January 10, 200719 yr I did not vote for Ripken, because as I've stated many times I find him ridiculously overrated. Because of the streak? What about the 2 MVP awards and 3184 hits? http://www.baseball-reference.com/r/ripkeca01.shtml
January 10, 200719 yr I did not vote for Ripken, because as I've stated many times I find him ridiculously overrated. Match him up against any SS in the HOF and show me how he's overrated. There is no denying that he fits every single criteria for making the HOF.
January 10, 200719 yr Author Interesting that McGwire has more support here than among the HOF writers (only 25% voted for him).
January 11, 200719 yr Interesting that McGwire has more support here than among the HOF writers (only 25% voted for him). He will be forgiven and enshrined soon enough...McGwire has been good for baseball. It's unfortunate Barry Bonds has screwed it up for all of us
