Ok, Lowell can stay...........LOL

Good game, Marlins! We are in the win column!

Glad we got the win...much needed especially since we are going to ATL..this should hype them up more.

Good things are bound to happen with Burnett and Penny soon joining the rotation.Let's hope Tejera pitches well like he did last year with his first couple of starts.

yes got back from the game and I have to say redman looked like beast out there, I thought I was watching galvine pitch. The guy kept everyone off balance all the time and seemed to have great control on his breaking stuff. He worked the counts really nicely, always taking the hitters deep and then coming with some nice breaking stuff to strike them out. Pierre is another animal, the guy runs everything hard and puts the bat on the wall, with his speed that can only translate in to hits. Pudge and Lowell, what can I say about those to guys, the have been on tear for the first 3 games, at least offensively. Torborg needs to make Pudge the clean up hitter and put Encarnacion to bat third, with Pudge behind him he'll see a lot of good pitches to hit and we know what he can do. Lowell needs to bat behind to protect Pudge because Lee offers no protection.

nice to see

The crowd of 14,585 included about 7,500 children attending through a Marlins' program with local schools. Florida drew 62,256 for the first series of the year, an improvement of 84 percent over the first series in 2002.

hey 14,000 is a really nice crowd considering the time in which we played.

Congratulations to Mark Redman! What a performance! He was my favorite player on the Tigers team last year, so its nice to see him do well!

Lucky for Redman he got traded off this team! If he thought last year's hitting (and run support) was ugly, he wouldn't want to even see this year's. The team has 10 hits in 3 games, scored a grand total of 2 runs, and owns a pathetic .111 team batting average. I have never seen stats so ugly! This team is unwatchable! I mean, come on, the Twins pitchers are pretty league average, but we are making them look like Cy Young winners! Once again the pitchers are doing a good job, but the "offense" is an embarassment. Someone better hope things turn around real quick, or it could get really ugly. It's not even funny when you are making the Devil Rays (and their $15 million payroll) look like contenders! No team should exhibit this level of ineptitude at any level. If they keep this up, we may look at last year's pathetic season as good!

Funny, Das, I was just thinking that today while I was watching Millar almost hit for the cycle. He is such a great hitter. I was fantasizing about having a lineup like this:

Castillo

Pierre

Pudge

Millar

Lowell

Encarnacion

Lee

Gonzalez

Can you imagine the offensive numbers they would have put up? Oh well - we'll have to settle with what we have. The killer of it all is that Millar was so CHEAP in the grand scheme of things. It's not like he commanded 10 mil a year.

honestly Das.... WTF

its been 3 games... Millar has been hot and TH hasnt.... look who each player has faced....

is Millar a better hitter overall ? yes...... TH will prove himself.... give him time

you just fart skepticism dont you?

SOCIAL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

(klink)

Good to see Marlins rebound from 2 bad losses...Maybe Lowell is still recovering from his back problem and it might have an impact on his throwing...

Redman pitched great!!!! I liked him when he was with Minnesota...

Perhaps Marlins should wear the alternate jersey more and win some games

--I wonder if Torborg had a "friendly" chat after the game last nite...

---I hope there aren't many more early games like today..I kept having to make up excuses to duck out of work and check on the game on my car radio... :mischief

hollandsworth has not really had a good year since his rookie year which i believe was 96....

he is simply an average hitter at best.

milllar is a born hitter....

you live with his defensive inadequacies....with two jackrabbits in pierre and encarancion you can make up for his lack of range.

Das then go call Torberg up and tell him to try and call Boston to make the Marlins a trade that would bring back Millar if not dont start putting down ur team so early.

Funny, I thought this was an open forum - not a dictatorship!

I was just being sarcastic Admin, because Das was told not to put down his team so early!

LOL Just messing around!

Kevin Millar will be one of those Marlins that I will probably miss for years. It's one of those moves that you just can't understand. Like dealing Clement and Alfonseca for example... Or not working harder to keep Cliff Floyd.

I'm willing to give Hollandsworth some time though. The first two games he hit some balls well, they've just been hit right at people.

My thoughts on Lowell: I'm sick of looking at his errant throws - I say trade him now and get something for him - we will lose him anyway at the end of the season. Bring in Cabrera. I'm over this sloppy play. It's not like he is a franchise player or something - he will be a gonner in 6 months - see ya.

No are you crazy? We cant trade that guy! He is our best Defensive player and our best clutch hitter along with pudge...He wont get traded...trust my word
