Dude where is Rob Nen and Bryan Harvey?

Dude why do we have one of these for the 6 millionth time?

Sorry, vertigo has made me grumpy.

Because it's fun and I've never gotten to do one. And it's fun.

Ryan Dempster gets a lot of love, huh?

What about Brad Penny (WS: 2-0, 2.19) and he's one of the best now.

Obviously we aren't going by performance as a Marlin on this list...

So I'd definitely add Bryan Harvey, Trevor Hoffman, A.J. Burnett, Brad Penny, Robb Nen, and if we are adding Non-Real-Marlins, Mike Piazza... lol

The position player list is solid besides Rodriguez and Delgado (replaced with Johnson and Lee) but it's decently solid.

(Carlos Delgado ain't no Marlin. It's not his fault, but he still isn't. I would take Julian Tavarez as the long reliever but with a team this good it's just unncessary. And I left off Trevor Hoffman because of his short time here, but he may get a spot if Urbina's not welcome because of the whole setting somebody on fire thing.)

yeah, but pudge won the ws here, and was our best player overall in the playoffs in '03 (17 rbi in 17 games).

Shocking lack of love for Devon White. Really the most under-appreciated "key" member of '97.

Ditto Al Leiter. IMO, the rotation has to be Beckett, Brown, Leiter, Penny and Willis

Shocking lack of love for Devon White. Really the most under-appreciated "key" member of '97.

Absolutely. One of the best defensive CFs(if not the best) in the league at the time. He was awesome, I loved Devon. He is my all time CF. IMO a great defensive CF(at least range wise) is a must for the Marlins to be a great team.

My top 5 rotation in order of BEST -

1. Josh Beckett

2. Livan Hernadez

3. Kevin Brown

4. Aj Burnett

5. Brad Penny

Mike Piazza.

Damn it Bobbob...I saw that you were the final poster and I was hoping to see an entire roster based on BABIP and equally obscure statistics.

I could go look up the best seasons of all time by VORP, but I'm far too tired right now, so here's the leaders in OPS and ERA by year...

Take out Burnett and put in Willis and you'd have the perfect list.

With the exception of 97, Livan sucked with us. He benefitted from the world's biggest strikezone in the series against Atlanta and had a really nice run in the playoffs. There are many better pitchers in Marlins history.

There have probably been about a half dozen versions of this thread before, but I'll do it anyway since now I can put Hanley on this list:

C: Pudge

1B: Derek Lee

2B: Luis Castillo

SS: Hanley Ramirez

3B: Miguel Cabrera

OF: Mark Kotsay

OF: Chuck Carr

OF: Gary Sheffield

Rotation:

Livan Hernandez

Dontrelle Willis

Josh Beckett

Al Leiter

Kevin Brown

Closer: Robb Nenn

Mike Piazza.

I thought Sanchez had the lowest ERA in 06'?
