He always projected at either third or first, and there's no harm done in seeing if his bat can return to the levels it was once at. Even if he only produces at half the level he was, that would still be better than what we've got now.
December 5, 200718 yr I'll play 3B for the minimum! Last time I played third base I hit .450. I didn't hit any homeruns, but that's fine. I'll be a slap hitter. I have a rocket arm, though.

Towards the end LeBetard asks LB about who plays 3B and he says they "have plnety of names on the their board but this thing took over everything but we know we have to address third base" (paraphrasing) which I take as a good sign. Also I'm reminded by his comments about how seriously the Marlins take scouting the AFL each season, which is where they made their decision on Uggla. And with the draft coming up tomorrow morning...we could have a new third baseman by noon. Ironically the Braves have a couple infielders worth considering tomorrow. And I always like the Rule 5, I look forward to it every year. Maybe we take no one, maybe we load up the truck for a few hundred thou and let a half dozen guys fight, kick and do whatever it takes to show they belong. The downside is just $25k on any player kept. But that said, I took his comments as trade candidates "on the board".

December 5, 200718 yr Gaby Sanchez will be at 3B :mis2 but I would think next year 3B will come via trade..... Hank Blalock would look nice at 3B. He got two years left on his deal which would be give Matt Dominguez time to develop down on the farm. The Rangers are looking for a 1B why not ours and move Hammer to 1B? just a thought
