Did anyone see after the game when reporters were Grilling Beckett on whether or not he knew if he was pitching game 6? He kept f***ing with them asking them rhetorical questions, pretty funny. October 24, 200322 yr The 7th inning thrown by Brad was one of the most fun innings I've ever seen pitch. It was vintage old school baseball. He just chucked 95+ fastballs one after another after another. He struck out one guy with a 99 fastball and Jeter had to guess to put his bat out there for the hit. It was something to watch. Nice job Brad...good thing we didnt trade ya to the Reds eh?

October 25, 200322 yr Thats all he had too do. Mix in his other pitches....you cant just throw fastballs in a game, especially to the Yankee Lineup. This is whats happening to loop. Too many fastball, they just sit on it and hit it well. Loop needs to work on his Slider and develop other pitches.

Like Jack says, he not only talks the talk, he walks the walk. Jack did the right thing this summer when he told both Penny and Beckett to stop throwing and start pitching or they'd wind up in the bullpen. Beckett responded almost immediately, while Penny needed to b*tch a bit before succumbing to Jack's ultimatum. If Penny can lose twenty or 30 pounds in the off-season he could be a h*lluva stud on the mound in 2004. Penny ought to look at David Wells and learn a lesson, everyone knows his back problems are directly related to that gut around his stomach and his overall lack of conditioning. Let's hope they close the McDonald's in Broken Arrow before Brad heads home.
October 25, 200322 yr Brad will NOT become Fat Bastard Number 2!!! Yes, Brad did vent about Jack's demands, but then again, he also LISTENED. From what I've heard, Brad looks up to Jack like a father figure and wants to do what's right...so he took the advice and went with it. Looks like it's paid off too :thumbup I like Brad the way he is but also agree he could drop some weight. Maybe some good ole offseason strength and conditioning are what Brad could be putting to good use.
October 25, 200322 yr Brad Penny = World Series MVP? Didn't think I'd ever say that before... At the moment, he's certainly the frontrunner. Of course if Josh 2-hits the Yanks this weekend, I think it's pretty clear who they'll vote for.
