May 27, 200818 yr Did anybody think they'd be 10 games over at any point in the season before the season started? Show yourselves, you liars. :mischief
May 27, 200818 yr ...and the thing is, Hanley isn't even hitting right now. ...and the thing is, we're missing 3 of our starting 5 in the rotation. ...and the thing is, Josh Willingham is out of the lineup. Hmmmm......... The_Godfather is right...I definitely didn't expect this, after 50 games.
May 27, 200818 yr Am I the only one who think Ricky had a good game? He didn't lose it for us. He was in trouble but got some big outs and held the lead we gave him. Nope, I agree with you. Even if he only went 5 IP, he only gave up 3 runs, vs the team that always gave him the most trouble. Another inning or two would be nice, but it's not like this was that start in Houston vs Oswalt where Ricky picked up a win after giving up 6 runs. All things considered, Ricky did well, earned his W. Guess I'm a little spoiled after his last start.

May 27, 200818 yr Nothing like playing the Mets to help us fatten our record up. We keep playing them though, people are going to start talking about us beating up on bad teams again. I know that Randolph comment is going to get used up like paper bags at Shea, but its still fun to use. Great defense by the infield tonight, especially up the middle. Its a bonus for us if we can get play like this more times than not.
May 27, 200818 yr 1. Hack of Play -> Good D. 2. Collect 6 two-out RBIs -> Improve the RISP 3. Awesome Relievers -> Welcome, Joe Nelson
May 27, 200818 yr Great game tonight, hopefully we can get to Johan tomorrow. He's 3-0 with a sub-2 ERA against us in his career, granted he doesn't have the stuff he did with the Twins, it's still a tough match up. Hopefully Miller-Time brings his A-game.
May 27, 200818 yr Ricky had a bend but don't break performance. It wasn't pretty but he did not allow the big hit to the Mets. This team is playing such a high level of baseball right now, we are fortunate that to be able to indulge in playoff caliber baseball night-in and night-out. Hopefully the people in S. Fl will get the word and pay to see this team

May 27, 200818 yr Great game, I was there tonight and it was a blast. If you go again, and we possibly win, please take some pics of all those great fans up there. God...to think I use to be a Met fan.

God...to think I use to be a Met fan. :lol believe it or not one time back in the day I was too. Back in the days when a Marlin was only a fish. I used to love Howard Johnson , Dwight Gooden, Roger Mcdowell, John Franco. Hell, Tim McCarver. They use to play the Mets game on the radio/TV in South Florida back when I was a youngin' - 8,9, 10 years old. Anyone else remember that?
May 27, 200818 yr Hopefully the people in S. Fl will get the word and pay to see this team Nope. They'll only go if they're in the playoffs.
May 27, 200818 yr Puma... I'm gonna name the guy in your sig "Petey"... He'll be "Petey, the Pitiful Mets Fan"

All things considered, Ricky did well, earned his W. No, he pitched pretty badly. Luck had part to do with the win, him keeping his composure was the other part. His WHIP for the game was 2.200, which is about as terrible as I can imagine. Luckily for us, he didn't leave any fat pitches out there with RISP and our defense was great.
May 27, 200818 yr Nolasco finally gets a win versus the Mets. Not a great start, but a win is a win. I find it funny how people cherry pick stats. I was just reading the Braves message board. Maybe they should look at their own record on the road. EVERY team has weaknesses but the only stat that matters is wins and losses. His last start at Shea was also a win.
May 27, 200818 yr this year in 2 appearances against the mets (1 start) nolasco has a 3.38 ERA in 8 innings his batting average against is still very high at .355 but it is so much better than in 2006 when he had a 19.73 ERA and .520 average versus the mets he now has 6 decent outings in his last 7 starts this season and sports a 2.78 ERA in his last 4 games its good to see another starter pick up some form when hendrickson appears to be cooling off - logged 4.1, 5, 5, 5 innings only in last 4 starts
