June 18, 200818 yr Author It's gotta be the balk. Winning the World Series without even moving. That's true, but someone getting hit by a pitch and having his teammates celebrating and piling on top of each other while he's laying in pain or motionless on the ground would be pretty awkward.
June 18, 200818 yr Ball being hit into the Cat Walk for a ground rule double! haha I love that one that would be the most media thrived win. A Balk would have to be my second choice. Nice poll by the way.
June 19, 200818 yr Nice poll by the way. That's what she said. :mischief :lol nice. And I voted "balk". That would just be insane. I don't ever see it happening, but you never know...
June 19, 200818 yr Nice poll by the way. That's what she said. :mischief Well done :notworthy I'm going to go with tagging up from second on a ball that the outfielder threw in the stands.
June 19, 200818 yr Score is tied in the bottom of the ninth. Batter hits a deep fly ball to the wall, as the outfielder attempts to jump and catch it, it hits his head and bounces over the wall for a homerun (ala Jose Canseco) to win the World Series.

That makes me laugh just thinking about it.

June 30, 200818 yr I voted for the balk. Second would be hitting the ball into a catwalk. The hit by pitch would only be awkward if the batter was really hit badly and was lying down in pain. In that case the HBP would be the most awkward. Otherwise the balk and cat walk would be much stranger.
June 30, 200818 yr The catwalk is imminently possible, too. :mis2 Though a balk would be the ultimate example of "folding under pressure". Sounds like something Joba would do. :mischief
July 1, 200818 yr Bases loaded, Bottom Nine, 2 outs, pitch comes in and hits a bird, rolls into dugout. Game.
July 1, 200818 yr Bases loaded, Bottom Nine, 2 outs, pitch comes in and hits a bird, rolls into dugout. Game. A pitch that hits a bird is a "no-pitch" and the play is dead.

Ok then.. umm.. Fly ball goes deep to center with the bases loaded, strikes a bird, goes straight down and lands in front of the fielder, a la Major League? (Except the guy was tagged out in the outfield)
July 3, 200818 yr Bases loaded, Bottom Nine, 2 outs, pitch comes in and hits a bird, rolls into dugout. Game. A pitch that hits a bird is a "no-pitch" and the play is dead. Now, if the ball is hit in this situation, hits a bird on the fly, and deflects foul, then it's a hit. Game.
July 4, 200818 yr Base hit off the pitchers glove, and into CF, as the rookie comes home to score? Slow roller down the first base line, and the Pitcher tags out the runner to win the World Series?
July 4, 200818 yr Base hit off the pitchers glove, and into CF, as the rookie comes home to score? Slow roller down the first base line, and the Pitcher tags out the runner to win the World Series? While great and exciting, they're neither wacky or strange.
July 6, 200818 yr Slow roller down the first base line, and the Pitcher tags out the runner to win the World Series? meh...
