7/26 Post Game

Btw, was it just me, or did Kevin Gregg actually hit 99 on the radar gun? That pitch looked like strike 3 on Fukudome, btw. Good thing Gregg K'd him, anyways.

I saw 99 as well. Think about the possibilities if Greg were to pull a J.J. and start throwing with control lol! :mischief

You can't talk about this game without taking your caps off to the Cubs. Defensively, they played about as good a game as I've ever seen, and I've seen a lot of games.

Now to the Fish. Hermida, what a hot steak. Guys play their whole careers looking for a week like his. Awesome.

Volstad, pitching out of the base loaded. My god, I think it's the second or third time he's been in that position since he came up but the poise he shows as he works his way out of these jams speaks volume about what this kid.

Cantu, geesus, i said all spring he was on a mission, you could see it in the way he worked up in Jupiter or in games in Fort Lauderdale. Never did I imagine this. He is absolutely THE guy you want up at the plate in these situations, and not to start a brawl (please no, I'm exhausted just from watching) by even above Hanley, Cantu is the go to guy on this team and has been since they moved him into the three spot.

There must be GMs around both leagues saying to themselves "how did I miss that ?" :banghead

WHAT AN ABSOLUTELY GREAT WIN, GREAT WIN, GREAT WIN ! ! !

What a crazy game! The Marlins had so many hits taken away by the Cubs, it seemed like a lost cause. But the pen has really turned it around lately. And wtf has gotten into Hermida? Holy crap! Keep raking. Before Cantu came through, Jeremy just carried the entire offense on his back. And speaking of Cantu, he had a rough day before the 12th, but I wouldn't have wanted anyone else up in that situation.

Beating the Cubs at Wrigley NEVER gets old.

All those strikeouts would have looked a helluva lot more hideous without a win. Definitely a real good start by Volstad, awesome job by the pen, clutch hit by Cantu (again). I think I have to go with Hermida on this one. Also, how refreshing is it to see good defense? No doubt the Cubs played great defense but it sure is a welcome treat to see it from our guys!

This is just one of those games that makes you believe man. Tomorrow's game is HUGE. Winning 3 out of 4 in the toughest park in the NL would be outstanding.

Im going to give a nice :Clap for Kevin Gregg!! solid job today buddy.... Throwing GAS!!!

LETS GO FISH!!!

Unbelievable win. Even more special after the classless Cubs fans boo'd Uggla and threw debris on the field. There is nothing more satisfying than watching a disgusted cubs fan

Change your sig photo, he hasn't been doing much blowing of anything. Except blowing the batters away.

Nah, I'm gonna keep it. It's funny.

It makes my sigs look small though.

BTW, can someone add that amazing catch to the superman video? That deserves to be on there.

I've always said I never wanted to add anything to the video unless something big happens...and that might be it.

As one of the few Marlins games I can actually watch on TV (Three days in a row and it's not even my birthday!) I was a little disappointed in the dour offensive effort outside of Hermida and Cantu, but I can't compalin about the results. Solid pitching and locking in at least two road wins on a possible division champion with an inhuman home record snuffs out the disappointment in the lack of offensive fireworks.

lucky catch lol but it was nice

I now know why I'm not a mayor league manager.

A few weeks ago I was ready to demote Gregg when be blew the back to back games in Colorado.

I am giving him a pass on the 10000 run game. But that 2nd one pisses me off to no end.

I just read through the last 9 pages of the gameday thread.... and it was priceless! BEST GAMEDAY THREAD I'VE SEEN so far

I had to leave at around the 10th inning to go to dinner and when I got back home it was great to see all those posts... LOL

What a game.....

ANYone can get lucky.

only few have the hand-eye coordination, and the skill, to pull off that move and make it look as if he wanted the batter to hit it there...

it looks like the degeneration-X "suck it" move, cept it's mexican style.

did anyone else notice.
