August 1, 200817 yr http://sports.espn.go.com/mlb/standings?da...=false&st=2 Only the Mets, Cards, and Brewers are ahead of us.
August 1, 200817 yr safest bet is to not get caught up in both. Dont use it as an excuse when we lose. Go for the division... since we play most games inside our division.
August 1, 200817 yr It's nice to have options!! I was definitely glad the Cubs swept the brewers, not only because of the positioning, but because for some reason the brewers really annoy me.
August 1, 200817 yr Brewers might be fading. I'd be more confident in that if they hadn't made the Sabathia trade.

August 1, 200817 yr Wow that was fast. I remember looking a week ago and the marlins were 5 or 6 games back. I would rather win the division, but the most important thing is making the playoffs. Lets hope we can take two more games vs Colorado this weekend.

August 1, 200817 yr Thank you, Cubs. for what leting us own them twice in chicago? and for rocking the brewers
August 1, 200817 yr The only thing the Fish can do is keep winning and hope others don't. Colorado certainly looked flat-footed yesterday, let's hope it continues. It may be that Hermida (and Jacobs) not being traded works out, at least in the short term as a plus plus motivator for the team. Let's hope so.
August 1, 200817 yr If we win the wildcard, we'l probably face the Cubs in the 1st round. We handled them on the road, so have no problem with that. If we win the division, we play the Brewers or Cards if they win the wildcard, or if a team outside the Central(doubtful), wins it, we play the DBacks or Dodgers. This considering the Cubs have the best record in the NL

If we win the division, we will more than likely play the D-backs at home, and we all know what happened the last time we played the D-backs. Either way if we do make it to the playoffs i like our chances.
August 1, 200817 yr FYI on the Cubs and Brewers...the Cubbies did to the Brewers the same thing that Zambrano did to Theriot that weekend, when he bops them on the head a few times and drops them lower each time...good times!
August 1, 200817 yr Wild card for me please, even though a division title would be nice. Two wild card berths, two world series titles, why mess with such a good combo. :thumbup

Because their only value in not being traded are as team motivators. Nothing else to contribute. Not a thing. Let's just hope Hermida's second half play doesn't hold the team back anymore than it already has. We can hope at least.
August 1, 200817 yr I wanna make it to the playoffs the old fashioned way for once. if we win the series i dont give a f*** how we do it
