August 3, 200817 yr Wow I dont know why I'm being told to shut up about Manny...but anyways, I'm THRILLED that we kept Jeremy...but here's my point about Manny... The entire Marlins lineup is seemingly in an offensive funk right now...Manny IS NOT in a funk right now...Manny would have been a fresh bat in the lineup who could have picked this team up because his bat isn't in the same dark pit of crap that our bats are in... And I know the Manny haters despise when he's brought up here but the truth is, it didn't have to be Manny...if the Marlins had picked up ANY new bat at the deadline, or even just McPherson...it COULD have helped and probably wouldn't have hurt... The Marlins need a FRESH bat whos not in the funk that we are in...Manny or not, SOMEBODY should have been inserted into our lineup at the deadline...and that didnt happen... Thats my story and I'm sticking to it, thank you
August 3, 200817 yr I was actually thinking about Andino after Wes' hit in the 9th, Andino could have pinch ran there... by the way, playoffs team beat Valerio De Los Santos and Glendon Rusch.

August 3, 200817 yr how bout that guy named Andino? Yeah i heard he's pretty good :whistle Actually not a bad idea. I would welcome the idea of Uggla sitting a game or 2, put Robert in there and see what he can do.

I know, another dumba** move by the front office, Andino would've been needed to pinch run for Helms at that time, then u could've put on a suicide squeeze

August 3, 200817 yr yeah we "beat" Rusch and De Los Santos but we didnt hammer them like we should have. Playoff teams who have a strong offense, like us, need to drive those spot starters out of games with 6 or 7 runs...Fuentes beat us, but the point is, this game should never have gotten to Fuentes...THATs the problem here

August 3, 200817 yr I'm still wondering how Glendon Rusch lasted six innings after throwing forty pitches through 2.
August 3, 200817 yr Why did Fredi let Arthur go only one-third of an inning, only to bring in another lefty in the 8th in Pinto? Besides that, I agree with his move to take out Olsen with the bases loaded. Everything else you can blame on the Marlins hitters....seems like we got men on base every inning, but couldn't bring any of them in.
August 3, 200817 yr I understand that we're not a good situational hitting team, but thats what the problem is. That will lose us many ballgames and a true "playoff team" just doesn't leave this many men on base in a one run game...its disgusting how good we are just knowing that we could be so much better if we knew how to hit and advance runners.
August 3, 200817 yr I don't care what anyone thinks, Cody is the weak link in our lineup unless Dallas is called up. If we bring Dallas up we can lose Jake, but until then, I think Alfredo needs to start getting starts over Cody in center. I will take his contact hitting and pitcher disruption over Cody's constant strikeouts and occasional power surges. I wish Maybin was ready. Ross is struggling right now, so he should get some time off. But Amezaga shouldnt start over him. Ross is the better hitter, and we need amezaga off the bench. I agree but they need to make it more of a platoon. Start Amezaga whenever we face a soft tossing lefty, the types that give us trouble. Or to jump start the offense. You can't have 3 guys in a row in the lineup who all strikeout a ton, and we do in Uggla, Jacobs and Ross. We can't replace Uggla, we can't do anything with Jake til Dallas comes up, the only option is Ross. Amezaga facing a lefty is the worst thing ever.
August 3, 200817 yr just a tough loss...... we had many of those already this year so looking at things oi say we are going to have a few of those every year...every team does, and we will prob have some ahead of us to. Let's try to forget this game, it's hard but we tied the series now all i care about is that the philliesl ose 2night and we take both the phillies and mets series, sweep would be nicer It's not difficult to forget one game. What is impossible to forget is the way we lose these games because they keep reminding us over and over by leaving men on base every day. Hell, they remind us even when we win! Opposing teams should realize the way to beat the Fish is to let them load the bases. I don't recall ever seeing a team put so many men on base and fail to score so many runs that should be scored -- often against mediocre pitching.

August 4, 200817 yr GUYS, there is a reason you guys do NOT manage these teams. Most of these posts prove that.
