Reconfiguring the lineup, to get out of this funk.

Maybe, the answer to this problem is switching a couple guys around a little bit. What about hitting Hanley back in the 3 hole. To be honest, Hanley is not a very good leadoff man. He dosen't bunt, he has a lot of strikeouts, and is very streaky. What about putting the combo of Amezaga/Ross in the leadoff spot. Amezaga is a very good leadoff hitter, and Ross isn't too bad at making contact, and going the other way. Here is the new order:

1. Amezaga/Ross

2. Hermida

3. Hanley

4.Cantu

5.Hammer

6. Uggla

7. Jake

8. Bake/Treanor

I wouldn't mind this, I think this was the lineup early in the year when we went on that 7 game winning streak

Anything as long as its not the lineup Eric came up with yesterday. Lol :|

?

1) Amezaga/Ross CF

2) Baker C (Very high OBP, makes contact and low strike out rate)

3) Ramirez SS

4) Willingham LF

5) Cantu 3B

6) Uggla 2b

7) Hermida RF

8) Jacobs 1B

9) Pitcher

1) Amezaga/Ross CF

2) Baker C (Very high OBP, makes contact and low strike out rate)

3) Ramirez SS

4) Willingham LF

5) Cantu 3B

6) Uggla 2b

7) Hermida RF

8) Jacobs 1B

9) Pitcher

I disagree entirely.

#1 - Hanley is good leadoff hitter. Certainly the best we have, and much better than Amezaga. Hanley has the highest OBP on the team and is the best baserunner.

#2 - If anything, his current slump is more indicative of why he doesn't hit in the middle of the order - he cannot hit with RISP. I don't know if he's just distracted by seeing teammates out there, but he cannot hit with RISP for some reason.

#3 - We've already experimented with this to some degree of just plugging in our CF into the #1 spot and Hanley #3. If anything, I'd say maybe bat Hermida leadoff.

1. Matt Treanor

3. Dan Uggla

4. John Baker - he can play centerfield, right?

5. Jorge Cantu

Fredi should just pick the names out of a hat. Oh yeah im gonna be interested to see if Larusa for the cards keeps his pitcher in the 8 hole.

Hanley should play leadoff

he can't drive other people in... only himself and he's good at getting on base

He's not that good at getting on base. I wish we could have a more consistent lead off guy.

If it's not sarcasm, I will let you know that is 10th in the league in walks and 11th in On-Base percentage.
